3. The Reason

A/N
this chapter is a bit dramatic than usual. There are also flashbacks and some touchy subjects.

"Well, we both are friends." Nick said, beating Edwin to it. "And how did you know each other?"

"Oh we go to Tisch, and he noticed my hoodie." I answered him, trying to stay calm and not letting anger get the best of me. BUT STILL, I hate the fact that Edwin is Nick's friend also how he ruined my day. "How did you guys know each other?"

"Through other friend." Edwin said.

"From a party." Nick said.

I look at them with confusion all over my face, I'm smelling something odd but I shrugged it off. "So, through other friend or from a party?"

Nick's P.O.V

Oh she definitely can't know about this. "Oh, I went to a friend party and he introduce me to Edwin."

Nice save, Nick.

I'm hoping she doesn't push further about this or I will be doomed.

Adeline's P.O.V

"What did you get mad about, by the way?" Edwin asked, making me remember that I'm still mad at Nick.

"WELL HE MAKE ME RUN FOR CLASS AND WEAR A FREAKING JUILLIARD HOODIE TO NYU, ITS LIKE WEARING A DC MERCH TO MARVEL CONFERENCE, OR WEARING A BIKINI ON WINTER, ARE YOU TRYING TO GET ME DEAD??" I shouted at Nick, letting all my anger out.

"You're way too dramatic." He rolled his eyes when saying that. I hope his eyes fall off  if he keeps doing that. "Just think about it in the positive ways, you won't got cold from the wind and you got there earlier so you don't have to stressed out."

"He's true tho." Edwin agreed with what Nick said.

"Ugh, I hate both of you." I stormed away to my bedroom, not wanting to face Nick and his annoying remarks.

I slam the door shut as Edwin say "Nah, you love me!"

Here is a thing, maybe you guys will think that I'm overreacting and I should've just be nice to Nick. No. That can't be happen. Cause you know what? Everytime he talks, it always bring me back to those days he bullied me until I have to move out to another school. He also the reason why I'm never confident about myself, what I do, how I look, anything really. One bully leads to another, my new school also didn't treat me any better. I got bullied nearly everyday because of I'm a transferred student.

A tear rolled down my cheeks. Oh no, not again.

Flashback - Tenth Grade

Today is my birthday and I already planned a sleepover with two of my best friends, Ingrid and Melissa. But Melissa just told me that she has to go to New York for a family event. So that left me with Ingrid.

I look at my reflection once again. I'm wearing a Pink Floyd band T-shirt, a pair of black skinny jeans,  a teal corduroy jacket and black Vans old skool. I put my hair down instead of tying up like usual, cause I'm up for something new today.

I walk downstairs to be surprised by my family gathered in the kitchen, my dad holding up a stack of blueberry and chocolate chips pancakes with a candle on it. "HAPPY BIRTHDAY ADDIE!"

I blow the candle and embrace them into a group hug. It's a tradition for us to make a surprise for each our birthdays.

"What's your plan for today, Ads?" Ava asked, munching her pancakes.

"I'm having a sleepover with Ingrid cause Melissa is out of town." I answered.

"Ads, you sure you don't want to throw a sweet sixteen birthday party?" My dad asked after swallowing his last piece of pancake.
