Silence fills out the whole room as I paced back and forth, trying so hard to remain calm. I tried to call my house but no one picked up, then I tried to call my mom, my dad, my sister but not even one of them picked their phone up. Then I tried to call my brother but the signal messed up since the storm is getting worse.

I plopped down onto the couch with my phone clutched in my hand, screaming in frustration. "You know you're not the only one that got their Christmas plan fucked up, aren't you?" Nick snapped.

I look up at him in disbelief, "Don't be overly dramatic." He stated.

"Oh, I'm sorry for being dramatic when there is this storm outside, no one in my family pick up my call and I can't spend my Christmas with them and my brother is about to propose to his girlfriend tomorrow, instead I'm stuck with you in this apartment!" I retorted, getting up from my seat and cross my arms across my chest.

"Do you think I enjoy being in this situation? I don't want this either!" He throws his arms all around.

"But why are you so damn calm like you don't even care about it at all?? hmm??" I raised my eyebrow while looking at him dead in the eyes.

"There is nothing I can do about it, do you think you can snap your finger and the storm will be gone?" He moves forward with his eyes locked into mine. I don't say anything and just look down instead, "Just as I expected." He murmured.

"But still! No one picks—" My sentence got cut off by Nick's lips touches mine.

Nah. Jk. It's actually because he put his hand over my mouth to stop me from talking. I know I'm not original at all but what should I do other than bite his hand to get it off.

"Ow, what was that for?" He rubs the area that I bite on his hand.

"Shouldn't I be the one who ask you that?"

"You talk too much." He simply answered. "I'm starting to get headache."

"Then go somewhere else or use headphones!" I exclaimed.

"It's more entertaining tho, to see you all worried and uncomfortable." He admitted, gaining a confused look from me. "Rather than sitting in my room all alone probably doing nothing."

As Nick finished his sentence, the lights went out. I was never the type of person who likes being in the dark, because you don't know what or who stands behind you, there could be anyone about to attack you and you don't know where they are until the lights goes back on and it's too late for you to run and then you die.

"Nick, where are you?" I mumbled.

"I'm in front of you." He said, then I feel a hand on my shoulder.

"Umm... can I hug you?" I asked him hesitantly.

There was a long pause before he finally say, "Sure." He pulled my body into his and embraced me into a hug. I put my arm around his waist as I rest my head on his chest. This strangely feels comforting. If the lights is on I'll probably won't be doing this, damn, I actually don't even want to do it in the dark too but I have too or I'll start shaking and sweating.

"Should we put a candle on?" Nick asked.

"Yes, definitely." He turned his phone on with one arm and turn the flashlight on. "Oh my god how can I forget about my phone!" I search it in my pockets but it's not there.

"My phone is gone!" I panicked, "I knew something bad was gonna happen when the lights went off."

"We'll search it later." He said before guiding me to the kitchen. He flick the lighter and fire up the candle. We do it to all of the rooms in the apartment and lastly we go to Nick's bedroom which I never saw before.
