Aria's POV
So ever since I got Niel's number I've been too much of a coward to actually call him. To make matters worse, it's been 6 days. Not that I've been counting or anything. I've been sitting in my bed contemplating for the last 20 minutes if I should call him or not.
Come on, it's just a guy who you met. Just friends and you're bored...really bored and you just want to talk to someone. That someone also just happens to be a particular person called Niel.
Okay you just have to call him. Now or never....or tomorrow....or next week....or maybe next month. NO. Enough procrastinating, let's do this now.
I shakily scroll through my contacts until I reach Niel's. Pressing his number and waiting for him to pick up is not for the weak of heart. The dial rings for a couple of seconds until I hear on the other line the cheerful hello.
"Hey Aria. Nice to know you finally plucked up the courage to call me."
Oh I could just see him smirking while he said that.
"Actually I'll have you know I was really busy this week with school and stuff....not just any stuff but IMPORTANT STUFF. Besides, you're one to talk, you could've called as well," I retort. Wonder how's he's gonna get out of that one.
"Good point," He states simply. I realised by now that Niel is unexpectedly honest and pure. Like that time when he just left me, I didn't actually want him to go. You know that's the intriguing part of him though.
"So now what?" Niel questions while laughing softly.
"Well, I actually didn't think I would get this far," I say honestly.
"You decide to call me at 10pm on a Friday, almost a week after I give you my phone number with no plan whatsoever?"
Woah, he nailed it. I really have nothing to say about that.
"Yeah, basically."
"Then tell me about the important stuff you've been doing." He says with sarcasm obvious during 'important stuff'.
Great, I'm not good at coming up with excuses. Let's just make everything seem important and hopefully he'll let me off.
"Well obviously I had school, and that's half my day gone. Then I have homework and chores and all these other little things in between. My best friend Nicole, well, she actually invited me for dinner and then this great big bug just......."
Niel's POV
Don't you just love it when girls talk forever and then she quizzes you on it? Hopefully this won't be the case with Aria. She's an interesting one who's different but I must admit, is pretty cute. Whatever she does I mean. Even that time when we met.
Her silky black hair fell beautifully by her sides and even when she was yelling her head off; she was still so tiny. Maybe 155cm? 158 at the most. She had really nice hands as well. That sounds really creepy but they were nicely shaped and elegant. Her voice is really nice to listen to. You would expect maybe a squeaky almost annoying voice from small things but the way she says her words is really sophisticated.
"Niel? Helloooooo? I can hang up if you're bored."
Damn it I zoned out. Quickly, how do I not make this awkward? Who cares, better to be honest.
"No, don't do that. I was just thinking about something else. Actually I have to confess, I wasn't listening to most of what you said." I say trying to play it off as being cheeky.
"Yeah? No chiz. I figured that out when you said yeah to 'how was your week?'."
Chiz? Like in S-H-I-T---Z-U? Another thing only Aria would say.
