Jin's POVRemember when I said that something was off about Namjoon and Jackson, I'm even more certain now that that's true. I've had a couple of months to observe everything and Jackson is a great person and all and I honestly have nothing against him but the way Namjoon interacts with him is just really not friendly. But then, Namjoon is just weird and doesn't really know how to speak to anyone.
Despite his awkwardness with Namjoon, Jackson seems to have become really good friends with Mark. Jackson even got a job at the bookstore where Mark works on the weekends. Those two have gotten so close that they pretty much ignore everybody else's existence. I think it's pretty cute, but my little friend Hobi has been heartbroken about it. Oh well, Hobi still has Yoongi.
The only problem is that, Hoseok doesn't think about Yoongi like that. So for now I'm just hoping that everything sorts itself out and there are no more heart breaks.
I have been a little busy recently because of something very important thats coming up. It's Namjoon's birthday next week and I'm throwing him a surprise party. He never celebrated his birthday after his mother left him but I want him to have fun on his special day, especially now that him and Jungkook have talked things out and have started to establish some sort of a relationship. Namjoon is still pretty awkward but he's getting better, so that's an improvement.
"Jin hyung, can I speak to you?"
I stopped pretending to read the book in my hand and turned around to find Mark. So, I quickly nodded and waited for him to go ahead and talk to me. For a few minutes Mark looked like he was struggling to speak but finally started talking.
"It's about Jackson. He told me that he really liked me and then he asked me out on a date and I said yes. I mean how was I supposed to say no? We've been spending so much time together lately and he just makes me feel so special and the way he's cared for me and my sister, even financially supporting us, it just makes me feel loved. I think I like him too." He ended, very nervously.
I was slightly confused. If they both like each other then what's the problem? He seemed to understand the confused look that I gave him and spoke up.
"I just don't want to hurt Hoseok. I know he has feelings for me and he's been such a great friend to me that I don't want to break his heart. But I really don't like him like that. I don't know what I should do." He admitted.
Oh.
"Listen Mark, Hoseok is mature enough to understand. He'll be a little upset but he'll get over it. It's better for him to know sooner rather than later so he can learn to move on more quickly. And you shouldn't have to hold back from your happiness because of Hoseok. If you really like Jackson and you're sure about this then Hoseok shouldn't be holding you back." I explained to him hoping he would actually listen to the advice that I give him.
He looked a bit taken back and was silent for a while before he slowly nodded his head in understanding. "I guess you're right. Thank you for talking to me hyung. I really needed to hear that. I'm excited for my future with Jackson." Mark smiled.
I smiled too. I wanted him to be happy after everything he'd been through. I know Hobi will be very upset for a bit but that's just life. And my friend is not toxic. He'll be happy for Mark.
After Mark left I decided that I should let Namjoon know about this, but then Namjoon was Jackson's friend so Jackson probably told him. I guess I should tell him just in case anyways and we haven't spoken to each other for more than two hours now, so thats another reason.
Humming quietly to myself, I got up to find my phone. After five minutes of looking for it I started to get tired. Like seriously, how do I never remember where I put my stuff?
Just when I was about to yell at Jimin and Taehyung for snooping about my stuff, I heard it ring from under my pillow. Oh yeah, I had put it on charge and forgotten. Oops.
I unplugged it and saw that Namjoon was calling me, and I don't know why but I felt a warm feeling spread through my body and a smile spread on my face when I saw his name pop up on my screen.
"Hi Jin."
"Hello! Hey Namjoon, did Jackson tell you that he asked Mark out on a date? Oh. My. God. I'm so happy for them both. Although, I really don't want them to rush their feelings and end up getting hurt. That would be so sad. I don't want Mark to be upset." I pouted thinking about Mark being upset.
I heard Namjoon chuckle over the phone, but it sounded forced.
"Don't worry Jin. They're both old enough to figure out how they feel. Anyways, this isn't why I called you. I'm outside your house to get Jungkook but he said he wants to sleep over at yours tonight. Is that okay with you?" I nodded my head. Of course it would be okay. Jungkook is a sweetheart.
"Uh Jin? I'll take him home with me if you want." Namjoon's response confused me before I realised that he couldn't see me nod my head over the phone. Stupid me!
"Oh no Namjoon its fine. He can stay. Its the weekend anyways so Jimin and Taehyung can spend more time playing Overwatch with Jungkook. Hobi is staying too so we'll all have a lot of fun." I answered happily.
"Okay thats great. Now open your door."
"Huh? Why?"
"Just open the door Jin. I'm not gonna go stay at my house by myself whilst you all have fun here without me."
The thought of Namjoon staying over made me really happy. Like really really happy, but I decided to tease him anyways.
"Uh I dunno Joon, I don't think that we have enough space. You might just have to go back home."
"You're kidding right? Look, Jungkook can sleep in Jimin and Taehyung's room and Hobi can sleep in the spare bedroom and I can sleep in your room like last time. You can't do this to me, I came all this way and I even brought my pyjamas with me.
"You know what? We'll order takeout and I'll pay for the food. How does that sound? Free food for you, you can order whatever you want." I quickly hung up and laughed laughed at Namjoon's seriousness whilst making m way over to the door. I carefully unlocked it and sure enough his car was outside. I could see him staring at his phone looking completely dejected."Namjoon you big monkey! Come on in." I shouted as I motioned for him to come over. He looked up to see who had called out to him, and was shocked to see me, before he quickly grabbed his bag and ran out of the car with a big goofy smile decorating his face.
"Jin! I knew you'd let me in. You missed me right?" Namjoon asked as he crushed me in a hug.
"Nope. Its only for the free food. Now let me go!" I literally had to push him off of me because he was smothering me. He pouted as I swatted his hands away from me, making me laugh. He looked like a lovesick puppy. Cute.
"Lets go Namjoon, everyone is waiting for us." I told him as I held his hand and lead him inside the house.
Tonight will be a good one.
