Cindy's POV

" When will you come back, Rapunzel?" Nova asked me pouting her lips. I picked her up in my arms and kissed on her cheeks.

" I will be back soon, Princess." I said to her. She hugged me and buried her face in my neck.

" I will misu." She said in her cute babyish voice. Awwww, my sweetheart.

" I will miss you more." I said.

" Come back soon." She said and I chuckled kissing on her forehead.

" I will. Then we will play in the garden when Mommy is sleeping at noon." I said to her and she smiled excitedly.

" Really?!" She asked me.

" Yes." I said.

" Ok." She cupped my face with her little hands then kissed on my cheek.

I chuckled. We came downstairs. I checked time. It was already late. I have called Steve an hour ago. He should've reached already. Or he got busy with his friends?! May be. Should I call Josh?! Let's wait a bit. But where is Clara and Patrick?! They were here awhile back. Strange!!!

" Ma'am!!!" Suddenly I heard Jacob's voice.

" Oh, hey, Jacob. You here this time? Do you have any work with Steve?" I asked him.

He looked away for a moment then came forward. I was a bit shocked looking at his face. His eyes were red. It seems like he has cried a lot before coming here. Because his eyes were puffy and red. I was confused. I mean why will Jacob cry like this?!!

" He isn't home yet. Did he tell you anything? Will he be late?" I asked him. But he kept silent looking down.

" Ma'am." His voice was broken.

" Yes, Jacob. What happened?" I asked him.

" Ma'am, please come with me." He said.

" Has he told you to leave me there? Will he be late?" I asked him. He nodded silently which can mean both yes and no.

" But where is Patrick and Clara?! We can't leave Nova alone." I said to him.

" Ma'am, take Ms. Hamilton with you. We will drop her to her parents on the way." He said and I nodded.

" Let's go, Princess. Let's go to Mommy." I said to Nova who giggled. "But where are Clara and Patrick?" I asked him.

" Mrs. Hamilton wasn't feeling good. So, they went to the hospital for check up." He said. I looked at him weirdly.

" When has that happened? She was completely fine when I came back from the party." I said to him.

" Ma'am, please come with me." He said and I nodded. His broken tone was something which was stopping me from dragging this conversation.

We came out of the house and he started to drive toward the hospital. I don't know why I was suddenly feeling very awkward.

" Stop the car, Jacob." I said.

" Why, ma'am?" He asked me.

" Stop it." I said and he stopped the car. I don't know why I was feeling like this.

" What happened, ma'am?" He asked me.

" Water. I need water." I said as he gave me a bottle of water. I drank some and give it back to him. He started to drive the car silently. Soon we reached the hospital.

" This way, ma'am." He lead me. I nodded and silently followed him.

When we reached the floor I found it a bit crowded. But there were all family members and relatives. What happened here?!! I looked at Jacob and his eyes started to watering again. He blinked his tears away.

" Mommy." Nova left my hand and ran to Clara who was sitting with Patrick looking at the wall blankly. What's wrong here.

I found Chloe and Matt. Chloe was crying silently. I looked at her weirdly. I reached her and kept my hand on her shoulder. She looked at me and got a shock. She suddenly hugged me and started to cry on loudly. Everyone turned to us and I looked at them weirdly. What happened here?! I don't know.

" What happened, Chloe? Why are you crying? Everything ok?" I asked her.

" Steve." She said and my heart started to beat crazily in fear. I broke the hug and tried to look at her face which she was hiding from me all the time.

" What happened to him?" I almost sighed.

" Cindy, Steve..." She couldn't finish just started to cry again.

" What happened?! What happened to him? Is he alright?" I asked her. I found Clara walking toward us. I left Chloe and reached her.

" Clara, what happened here? Why is everyone so tensed? Why is Chloe crying?" I asked her. She gave me a soft smile but tears slipped down over her cheeks. She hugged me tightly patting my back.

" Everything will be fine." She said

" What will be fine?" I asked her.

" Just stop worrying." She said.

" But why are you saying that?" I asked her.

" Just hold on yourself. Don't break down." She said.

" But why? I am fine. Why are you talking like that? Please tell me what happened here? Why is Chloe crying like that?" I asked her and she sighed deeply gulping down her tears.

" Cindy..." She stopped for awhile. "Steve..." She stopped again.

" Yes, where is he? I was waiting for him. But Jacob said you are not doing well. What happened to you?" I asked her.

" I am fine, Cindy. But Steve..." She looked into my eyes. " Steve had an accident." She said. My eyes widened at once.

" What?!!" I asked her. Then I chuckled. " You must be joking, right?" I asked her but she didn't answer me. She kept looking down as tears slipped down her cheeks. " Tell me you are lying." I said but she shook her head.

" Hold on yourself." She said only.

" Hold on myself?! How?!!" I said more like shouted.

" He will be ok." She said.

" He had an accident and no one consider to inform me about that?" I asked her. " Why?" I whispered.

" We didn't want you to be worried, Cindy. He will be alright." Patrick said.

" I know my husband will be alright. He can't do anything which will hurt me. This is why he will never ever leave me." I said and tears burned my eyes. " I want to see him." I said.

" He is inside the OT. You have to wait a bit, Cindy." Patrick said.

" Wait!!! No. I can't. I can't wait. I want to see him now. Just now...I want to-" I couldn't finish my words as the door of the OT opened and I found Josh coming out with the other doctors. I almost ran to him.

" Josh!!" I said holding his hands. He looked at me with a sad smile on his face then sighed deeply. What does that mean?!! " Is...he.." I couldn't finish as I felt everything spinning around me and I lost my senses. I closed my eyes happily. If not here then we definitely can be together in the heaven. That was only thing I could think before darkness consumed me.
