Cindy's POV
" Ma'am, sir will fire me if he comes to know that I have helped you." Jacob said to me.
" Jacob, you are his right arm. If you don't tell him then he will not come to know that. Relax. I have talked to Patrick, Clara and Chloe. They will manage Steve. You just don't worry." I said to him.
" Ok, ma'am. If you say so." He said politely.
" Yeah. Trust me." I said.
" God knows what you are going to do." Ann said to me.
" You will see." I said and put on the sunglasses. I wore a scarf to hide my face partially.
" Yeah, you are saying that all the flight along." Ann said and I chuckled.
I took a deep breath as soon as I got down from the plane. Motherland!!! More precious than my heart to me. I smiled widely. I don't know if I sound funny but even the air was so welcoming. Like it was hugging me tightly welcoming me back to my Homeland.
Yes, we were here in the USA. Just stepped here. Had to create a lot of drama to hide it from Steve and arrange everything. I hope things goes perfectly. Just like I have planned for. If Steve comes to know that I am doing something like this then I am dead.
" Ma'am." Jack called me.
" Yes." I said to him.
" Our car, ma'am." He said and I nodded.
" Directly to the Blankfein office building." I said to him. " We will be back to Melbourne after this."
" Ok, ma'am." He said.
" Let's go." I said to Ann holding her hand.
" You are crazy." She said to me.
" I know that." I said to her. She shook her head.
It took 30 minutes to reach there in Blankfein's office building. I got down from the car and entered the office. Jacob talked to the receptionist and then lead us toward the lift. We went to the 32th floor. He pointed at Mr. Blankfein's cabin.
" Ma'am, you go inside. I will be waiting for you here." He said.
" Ok. If you don't want to come then it's ok." I said to him. " Come on, Ann. Let's meet my father in law." I said.
" Are you sure about that?" She asked me.
" Yes. This is the only way." I said.
" Alright. If you say so." She said and I chuckled.
" Yes. Let's go." I said.
We reached the cabin and I knocked on the door. We waited for him to allow us to go in.
" Come in." He said and we entered the cabin.
I found Mr. Blankfein was working in his laptop sitting behind the desk. We walked toward him and stood in front of the visiting chairs. I cleared my throat and he looked up at us. Yeah, Steve looks quite alike him. But unfortunately he hates his father. I sighed inwardly. Some people doesn't values the most precious things they have. I didn't even see my father ever. I have memories of him created by baby brain. Stupid childish imaginary memories.
" Cindy Grace!!" He said totally shocked.
" Can I have a few minutes of you?" I asked him.
" Have a seat." He said.
" Thank you." We sat across him. He looked at us sharply.
" I hope you have a specific reason for your sudden visit." He said.
" If it was some other day and we were a bit closer then I would say that a family member doesn't need any specific reason to meet the other. But unfortunately we are not in that state." I said.
" Then come to the point." I said.
" You should have time for your family as well from your busy schedule." I said to him.
" I don't have to learn that from you." He said.
" Alright. I have forgotten that you are Mrs. Blankfein's husband not Steve and Clara's father. Alright. I will be professional then. I have got an appointment to talk to you today. So, your schedule for next 2 hours is booked." I said and he looked at me weirdly.
" Better." He said.
" Mr. Blankfein, I don't want to give you any advice about your life. But it's your life. You can choose to live anyhow you want to." I said. " I just want to tell you two story." I said.
" Two stories?" He asked me.
" Yes, two stories But true stories." I said. He seemed to be very irritated but he nodded.
" Start over. Let's see what is your story about." He said.
" Ok, listen. Once upon a time there a happy couple lived in NYC. They were very kind hearted and lovely people. They didn't have enough money to lead a very luxury life. But they were happy. The man used to have a small bakery and this is how they used to earn their livelihood." I said and looked at him. He was listening to me very carefully. " They always used to help people. No matter what they never said no if someone asked for help. One night when they were coming back from the bakery they found an old man was crossing the road and a car was rushing toward him with full speed. The man ran to him to help him. He was successful to save that old man but unfortunately they couldn't save himself." I said and tried hard not to cry in front of him. I blinked several times and gave a soft smile. " After a few days of his death his wife found out that she was pregnant. She didn't have her husband to share this happy news. Soon she gave birth to a baby girl. She decided to reopen the bakery but she had no money to do that. She wasn't that educated to get a job but she somehow managed to find out a job. Everything was going ok. But one day when the girl was 5, her mother also passed away leaving her all alone in this world. Her grandfather decided to take care of her. She moved in with her uncle, aunt and cousin in her grandfather's house. Soon they started to show their real color. They forced her to work and earn money to fulfill their wishes. She was dropped out from school. But their demands was increasing day by day until one day they decided to sell her in the black market." I said and his eyes widened.
" What?!" He asked me.
" Yes." I said.
" Is that really a true story?" He asked me.
" Yes." I nodded smilingly.
" Where is the girl then?" He asked me.
" She is sitting in front of you telling you the story." I said and his eyes widened again. I smiled.
It was just the first part of the plan. Next one is the climax.
