Steve's POV

" Hmm... Very weird situation. You should talk to her before you do anything." Josh said to me.

Well, Josh is Patrick's cousin more like his younger brother brother. He is a good friend of mine. We attended school together. Then he went for medical and I went to Business school. But still we are very close because of Clara and Patrick. We had to work as the bridge in their love story. Every time they fought they used to say this is break up they are not going back. Then we had to do fake things to reunite them. Cause we knew they love each other truly. But they were stupids as well.

" I will talk to her soon." I said.

" You know what? I think it's your mom. She must have done something." Josh said and I looked at him weirdly.

" Why do you think like that? She is my mom, Josh. Come on. She will not do something like that." I said.

" She is not your mother. She is your step mom. I still remember how much she made Patrick suffer. She is allergic with love word." He said.

I know she is my stepmom but she is still very nice lady. She never act rude with us. Since she got married with my father she has never even talked rudely with us. She took care of us like a mother. She is a good person. I don't have any complains against her.

Well, since Clara and Patrick got married they started to live in the same area of our house. I decided to shift with them because can't live without my sister. No matter how much we fight but at the end of the day we can't stay away from each other. My father and new mom knew this. They didn't stop me. This is why I live with my sister and brother-in-law from last few years. I occasionally go home to meet my parents.

Well, we have two more siblings. Dorothy and Abraham. They are my step sister and step brother. I don't know why they don't like to mingle with Clara and me. May be because we have an age gap. But whatever. I do not care about it. If they don't want to then it's fine.

But the biggest problem is my father. I don't call him with any name. Simply if I need to call him I call him Mr. Blankfein. Yeah, we share this kind of relationship only.

Why?! It's simple. Because I just hate that person. He got married after 3 weeks of my mother's sudden death. But he didn't think about us, didn't think about our feelings. He didn't think about my mother. I sometimes think he himself killed my mother to get remarried.

But my step mom is a nice lady. She never act rude. But the fact is she is not my real mom engraved in my heart. She has done a lot for me, for us. I will never ever forget that.

" She is not. She loves us a lot. She did that because she didn't know Patrick and Clara had an affair that time." I said.

" Still she is no one to arrange someone's marriage without informing them." He said.

" We can give thousands of reasons but still I don't accept my mom has done anything like that." I said.

" Open your eyes before it's too late, stupid." He said.

" My eyes are open only. I can see you wearing a white shirt and black jeans." I joked with him and he rolled his eyes.

" Oh, I thought you are a colorblind." He said and I chuckled.

" Now that you know I am not a colorblind then what do you want to do?" I asked him.

" Wanna give you a hard punch. What about that?" He asked me.

" Bad. Very bad thinking." I said to him and chuckled.

" Leave it. If your mom hasn't done this then still there must be someone who told her something bad that she misunderstood you like that." He said.

" Her family is first in my suspect list." I said.

" Are you sure that they tried to do something like that with their own family member?!" He asked me.

" They love only their money. Her existence doesn't matter to them anyways." I said.

" What are you talking about?" He asked me getting a bit shocked.

" I am telling the truth only. You don't know what they tried to do. If I was a few moment late they would've sold her to a bust*rd." I gritted.

" What?!!" He said.

" Yes." I said and told him everything.

" Like seriously?! Just for 1 million they tried to destroy her life?!!" Get said. " Unbelievable and pathetic."

" I know." I said.

" You should have file a case on them. They crossed their limits." He said.

" I will do everything once I get her back. I have to talk to her at first. I need to know why has she left like that on our wedding day." I said.

" One thing you have to admit, Steve." He said.

" What?" I asked him.

" You are responsible for her sudden disappear as well." He said.

" Me;!??" I asked him weirdly.

" Yes, you." He said.

" Well, how am I the reason here?" I asked him.

" You showed her desperation. She must be scared of that. Any girl will need some time to think about it and here she is only 19. Her mental state is not as matured as you. She must have thought you are going to do something bad with her." He said.

" What kind of things are you pointing at?" I asked him.

" Well, you should understand by now." He said. " I was talking about marital r*pe. It so common these days. Besides she doesn't know you that well. She only knows you are her boss. That's it. You didn't give her time to think about the wedding." He said. I sighed.

" I didn't have any intention to get married like this. But I just wasn't able to believe her family anymore. They are just too dangerous for her life. They could hurt her. So, I have to protect her from them. It wouldn't be possible if she stayed with them." I said.

" I can understand that. But you have to make it up for her." He said.

" I have my plans for that." I said.

" Better." He said and sipped on the coffee.

N:B: Cindy's story starts before RD's story. But while numbering SLS series somehow those numbers got misplaced while creating the covers. I thought to change the order when the series will start. But I forgot an it. After I finish this story will rearrange the story's number. I hope you guys can understand.😘😘😘😘😘
