Alex had gone back to her house to grab her stuff for the school trip. She was glad to get away from the putrid smell that stung her nostrils. She was waiting for Grizz and the rest of the jocks to arrive.

"Cat!" She heard a familiar voice. She turned around only to get picked up and swung around in a hug.

"Hi Grizz," She laughed as he gently settled her back on her feet. He held her as she wobbled, still dizzy from being spun around in circles. She finally stopped wobbling and gave him a normal hug.

"Get a room!" Clark shouted. The two of them threw him the middle finger before, walking over.

"Are you excited, Al?" Luke asked the girl, wrapping an arm around her shoulders.

"Obviously, first we get away from this rank smell, secondly we get away from our parents," She let out a dreamy sigh with a grin on her face. The boys laughed at her. She had always been great friends with all of them. The only one that she was friends with was Clark. He didn't get the great part. He irritated her most of the time, but he was also there for her.

To them, she was like a sister. They all tried to look after, especially since they knew about her parents. The break up had been messy and she was stuck in the middle, trying not to drown. They had made a secret packed to try and keep her smiling as much as they could.

They all got onto the bus, Alexandrea sitting next to Grizz. Everyone cheered as the buses pulled forward. They were leaving the town behind for a few days, and it sounded like heaven to them all. Who wouldn't want to not have parents for a while? Grizz had his earphones in while Alexandrea drew. She knew that the pencil would end up smudging.

Soon they all fell asleep, not knowing that there was a storm raging outside. Thunder clapping as lightning streaked across the sky. They were all startled awake when the lights turned on again. Alex rubbed the sleep out of her eyes, looking around and seeing that they were back in town.

"Rock slides, the road is closed. You're back home," The bus driver stated. Alex ran a hand up and down her arms. 'so much for a holiday', she thought. They all got off the buses only to find that no one was there. No parents were waiting for them. Alexandrea hadn't been expecting her father to show up, on the other hand, she did expect Grizz's parents to be there. Everyone looked around.

"Well, doesn't look like anyone was expecting us," Cassandra stated. Alexandrea nodded her head in agreement. Grizz wrapped an arm around her shoulder.

"This is weird,"

"If you're saying that, cat, then it's beyond weird," Grizz said to Alex, using his odd nickname for her. She slapped his chest causing him to chuckle at her. The bus' doors closed and they all drove off, leaving the children alone, in the dark.

"What?" Alex complained as they rode off. Everyone watched and muttered to each other about what could be going on. Some tried calling their parents, while others waited to see if they got a response. Everyone put their phones down. No response.

"Maybe everyone's asleep," Helena stated. Alexandrea nodded her head, not having much to say. Grizz pulled her close into his side. They all began to head home and he turned to her.

"Do you want to stay at mine again?" He asked her, noticing the tight-lipped frown.

"No. I'm gonna head to mine. I'll see you later," She told him.

"Love you,"

"Love you too Grizzy," She headed off in the opposite direction, towards her house. It was a short walk. She lived with her father in a small house near to the town centre.

She got to the small, brick house and went inside. She was surprised to find her father not passed out on the couch. The TV was switched off and so were all the lights. The entire house was eerily quiet. She ran up the stairs to look in her father's room,, trying to be as quiet as she could. Nothing. No one was lay in the bed, on a toilet or anywhere else.

She pulled her phone out and texted Grizz, feeling her heart drop into her stomach.

A: My dad's not here

G: My parents aren't here either. Want me to come round?

A: No. I'll come to yours. See you soon xx

G: See you soon xx

Soon they were all gathered back in front of the church. Everyone's families were gone. There was no-one left, but them.
