Honestly I cannot thank you all enough for the support, not only on this book, but on all of my books on here so far. On this book alone, I have 5k reads. That is insane to me. I never thought that I would write a book that so many would read, as I started writing this for one of my best friends. So to find out that it had been read so many times, and to have 146 votes, was insane to me! My biggest dream is to be an author in the future, and while I am not even good at writing, your support has given me the motivation to learn how to improve, not only that but I am writing two original stories that I hope I can one day post for you all to read. SO THANK YOU SO MUCH for all the support you have given me.
In regards to what is happening around the world, especially in America, I will not be posting in any of my stories, except for this. This may be for one or two weeks, maybe more if I think necessary. I want the last thing that you returning, lovely people and new lovely people will see when reading is this for a while.
I am fortunate enough, to not be scared of calling the police. My mother didn't have to teach me that calling the police could put me in more danger, than the danger itself. This is because of my skin colour. I watched the entire video of what happened to George Floyd. An INNOCENT man. He told the police man kneeling on his neck 'I can't breathe,' and that everything hurt. My heart broke even more, when he called out for his mum. All of this and that guy knelt on his neck for 9 Minutes. Even after he stopped moving, even after all the bystanders shouting for him to move, even with the cameras pointed at their faces. And one of those men has been charged with third degree murder, and manslaughter. If this is not able to be considered first degree (Which it should be) It should at least be second degree murder. If it were the other way around, George would have been sentenced to death, or the worst that the state laws provide.
So, I agree with the protests.
And to all those in Britain and other countries who act as though it is not their problem. It is YOUR problem. Only a few months, maybe weeks, ago a black man was tased in front of his son. A child that looked like a bloody toddler. I never heard of that case again. So many innocent black lives have been injure, many taken, in the British streets we walk down. So if you think this is not your problem, then you are the problem.
While I may not know the fear that they feel in front of the police, I can at least support them in getting the rights that they deserve.
Thank you all for reading,
see you soon
Paige xx
