Alexandrea stood throwing the bat between her hands. Clark watched her like he was scared that she'd hit him with it. She took notice and lifted the bat like she was going to swing at him. Clark jumped making her burst out laughing, putting her hands on her knees. Even Jason joined it. "Not cool Andrea," He groaned, holding a hand against his heart. Alexandrea just laughed hander, holing onto Jason's arm so she wouldn't topple over. "Not cool," Clark repeated.

"Jesus Christ. Grizz, where the fuck have you been?" Luke said to the boy approaching them.

"I slept through my alarm,"

"pre-dawn raid means pre-dawn,"

"I know," Alex watched them trying to catch her breath after laughing so much.

"Yeah, man, it's like post dawn right now," Jason jumped in.

"Am I the only smart one here?" Alexandrea mumbled, her eyes flicking between the boys. She tried her hardest not to scream at them all to be quiet, knowing she'd wake everyone up. Something they did not want to do, right before a raid. Instead, she stood back, watching them battle it out. She ignored Grizz's looks for help. Looking around like she didn't notice him and was too interested in the sky. "oh, look at that cloud. That's a nice cloud," She said, trying to sell her interest in the sky. Grizz, however, was not falling for it.

"Can we just do this?" Clark asked. Ale heard the click of a gun and kept looking up. She wanted to strangle the idiot. But doing that while staring at the sky might prove to be difficult. So instead she stuck up her middle finger.

"Whoa, what the fuck is that, Clark?" Luke asked.

"it's a gun,"
"Yeah no shit,"
"We can see that"
"Where's you get it?"
"Gordie gave it to me," Alex ran a hand over her face, the urge to strangle him increasing with every word that he said. "This weirdo shot someone okay. We can't go in unarmed," Alex closed her eyes and let her head fall so that she was looking at the ground. She pinched the bridge of her nose, the idiocy of Clarks words making her want to jump into a hole. Because you know, bringing a gun isn't going to provoke the boy more, maybe make him angrier.

"Have you had it here this whole time?"

"Yes, bro, relax,"

"I should have hit you with the bat," Jason nodded his head at Alex, not that she could see. The ground becoming her new point of interest.

"Do you even know how to  use it?" Grizz asked. Alex shook her head. Of course he didn't. He couldn't even count to ten if he had the numbers in front of him.

"I mean how hard could it be? You know,"

"I am going to hit him over the head, repeatedly, with this bat," Alex said finally looking up. Her heart stopped as she looked at the pistol. She squeezed her eyes shut. 'I'm fine. I'm passed that. I'm fine," She mumbled. She knew that in a chaotic town like this, she had to face the idea of guns. It didn't make it any easier for her to see them. Grizz held her hand, squeezing. Quickly, the went into the grounding routine. Squeeze, release. Squeeze, release. 'What can I smell? cologne. What can I feel, the wind and Grizz's hand. What can i taste? Mint from my toothpaste. What can I see? My friends,' She opened her eyes at the end, taking a deep breath. Her heart still hammering against her chest, but her feet still felt planted to that time and space.

"You're going in first, all right, Clark?"

"Cool. Hey, I'll read him his rights," Everyone looked at Jason like he was out of his mind. Anarchy had been  running rapid in the town for a long time. There was no government or Adults telling them what they could and couldn't do. They could do what they wanted, and all of them knew that. Alexandrea watched as the sun slowly crept over the horizon. It's blinding light painting the sky in a Bob Ross-like masterpiece. The deep blues, blending into bright orange. The trees were now black silhouettes as they stood against the sky. "make sure everything's all legit," He tried to reason. Everyone in the group rolled their eyes at him. Alexandrea walked over the the stone fence, sitting on it. She pulled out her phone, ignoring everyone arguing.
