Once Emma finished eating she helped Regina packing up Josh's stuff. They started in the lounge.
"This whole fire place is covered in his stuff. We can put all of it in there" Regina said as she dropped a cardboard box next to her.
"Everything" Emma asked as she walked over.
"Well the stuff that's obvious it's mine leave. Like the candle sticks are mine" Regina replied as she walked closer to it. She picked up a frame with a photo in. It was of her and josh on there wedding day. "Like this. I don't want it so it goes in the box"
"Is that your wedding day?" Emma asked leaning across to look at it.
"Yeah. That's why I'm in a wedding dress" Regina replied looking up like she's stupid but with a chuckle.
"You look beautiful. Whoa" Emma says almost taken back by Regina's beauty in that photo.
"Thanks. I think it's the dress that's beautiful not me" Regina replied as she dropped the photo into the box.
"No. You look stunning in that. I mean your literally gorgeous Regina. I don't know how you can say your not" Emma said laughing at what Regina just said.
"You do make me laugh Miss swan" Regina said laughing at how funny she found Emma's passion about it. The blonde giggled and placed a wrist band into the box. Regina remembered what Emma had said in the kitchen. "You never told me about your home life. Talk to me about it"
"Not much too tell. My parents weren't rich and any money they made they spent on drinking. They'd leave to go out drinking on a Monday night and the earliest I'd ever see them is Thursday. They barely knew I existed. If it wasn't for my Nan I'd have no one. Sadly she died when I was 14 and I have looked after myself ever since" Emma replied with a shrug since to her it was a normal life.
"Why did you never get help or tell someone" Regina concernedly asked now worried about Emma's past.
"No one to tell" Emma replied still moving the stuff from the fire place into the box.
"Emma that's awful" Regina softly said feeling bad for the blonde woman.
"I grew up use to it. I was skinny because I barely ate anything. I had no food to eat. My Nan fed me dinner but she didn't have much money so I never told her I hadn't eaten all day. She needed the food more than me. When she died my best friend brought a sandwich in everyday for me and invited me for dinner most days. When my parents would finally come home they always had dominos and if they felt nice I'd get a slice" Emma admits knowing the only other person who knows this is her deceased best friend.
"Em I'm so sorry. That must have been hard for you. I wish I could of helped" Regina softly said as she paused her actions and faced Emma.
"It's fine. Being here i have a bed and a job so I can pay for myself. I worked hard in school and since I had nothing else to do I studied lots at home" Emma replied with a shrug as she continued.
"I'm always here for you. We both went through a rough time" Regina said as she rubbed Emma's shoulder and smiled softly at her.
"You know what? Your not as harsh and means as you try to be" Emma said with a laugh earning herself an eyebrow raise.
"I'm not harsh and mean. I'm just a very angry person who is a strict teacher. I'm not a nice person Emma but I try to be" Regina replied with a chuckle of amusement at Emma's comment.
They both laughed and finished putting everything into the box. They cleared the room of everything that was Josh's. Regina wanted none of it since it was a harsh reminder. Emma was looking at all the photos of Regina while the brunette teacher made them a coffee each. Regina walked into the lounge and saw Emma looking at a photo of her with her parents.
"You had long hair? How old are you here" Emma asked looking round at her.
"18. I was saying goodbye to them before going off to college" Regina replied with a laugh at the memory of her with long hair.
"Why did you cut it off? Don't get me wrong you look hot with short hair but why" Emma asked still giggling at the photo before putting it back.
"My hair was down past my ass. It was so long and thick. I cut it because with long hair I looked like a child. Short hair makes me look more mature" Regina replied handing Emma a mug.
"You do look good both ways" Emma replied as she took her drink from Regina. The brunette just looked at her like she was crazy. Emma sipped her drink and swallowed. She realised that wasn't coffee. "Ow god what is that" Emma asked disgusted by the taste.
"Ow shit. That's mine" Regina said quickly taking the cup and switching it with hers.
"What is in that" Emma asked looking confused and shocked.
"Don't worry. Just something I call happy juice" Regina replied before taking a mouthful of her drink.
"It tasted like there was whiskey in it. I thought that might have been crazy because it's 11 in the morning" Emma questioned as she looked at Regina.
"Don't question me. You know I don't like it" Regina said frowning hard at Emma.
She took a mouthful and left the room. Emma knew she had to follow. She followed the way to Josh's study while thinking how Regina's 'happy juice' clearly wasn't working. Regina opened the door revealing a room that she hadn't been in for a long time.
"Was this his study" Emma softly asked looking around the room.
"Yeah... it reeks of him" Regina said looking at the room with anger.
She walked over to the desk that was full of his paperwork. She saw notes and letters between his mother and him. They were talking about Regina not having a baby. There were printed stuff about how to make a child be born. The thing that stood out was a yellow legal pad saying dear diary. Regina screwed me over again and didn't get pregnant. The brunette stood looking at it in anger.
"Hey you alright? Calm down" Emma said noticing the anger growing.
"He was a fucking bastard" Regina growled as she was looking at it all.
Before another word was said she pushed her hand through the middle. Paper flew off and objects tipped over the edge. Regina started ripping at sheets and screwing them up. Emma rushes over and rapped her arms around Regina's body. Pulling her backwards. The brunette was so anger she didn't realise the tears sprinting out her eyes.
"Regina" Emma said not knowing how to cope with her like this.
"He ruined me! He made me this monster" Regina shouts as the tears moved faster and stung more.
