"Huh" Regina asked looking pure shocked.

"Ow I wasn't meant to say that" Emma sighed realising what she actually just said.

"Ok... well dinner is done so end of game. I'll dish that up" Regina said rushing to the oven and trying to forget anything Emma said.

"Yeah. I guess that we're not taking about it" Emma softly questioned knowing the answer.

"You guessed correct" Regina simply replied as she took the lasagna out the oven. She looked at it and instantly knew how much longer it was meant to be in. "Another 6 minutes" Regina said as she pushed it into the over.

The brunette walked back around the island and over to Emma. She held her face and kissed her quickly in the same move. Emma pulled away but Regina started kissing down her neck.

"Gina are we really not going to talk about what I just said" Emma asked looking at the woman confused.

"Nope" Regina said pulling off Emma's neck and climbing into her lap. "Not right now" she adds before starting to kiss the blondes neck again.

She moved up and kissed her on the lips. She made it deep and kept Emma close so she couldn't pull away. Regina wasn't ready to talk about that. She was in shock and refused to do anything. A voice in her head just screamed student. She knew she wasn't allowed to even be doing what she was. Let alone date and love. They weren't even dating. They were just friends with benefits. Once the dinner was done the girls stopped making out and Regina dished dinner up.

"Are you hungry or not very" the brunette asked not even bothering to raise her head.

"Yeah hungry I guess" Emma shrugged not really focusing much on food.

"Good because there's lots of food" Regina chuckled dishing more on Emma's than hers. She pushed a plate to the blonde girl while walking around the island with hers. "Enjoy"

"Thank you" Emma replied as they walked towards the dining room.

The girls sat down next to each other at the table. Sitting in silence since neither knew what to say. Emma took a bite out of the lasagna and hummed in pleasure at the taste. She smiled brightly at it which got Regina's attention.

"You like" the brunette asked with a chuckle as she looked at her.

"It's so good. I love it" Emma replied before taking another mouthful.

"You what" Regina asked looking at her a little shocked and quick.

"I love it" Emma replied confused at the woman's reaction.

"Ow sorry. I thought... well it doesn't matter. Eat up. It's good" Regina quickly mumbled as she looked at her food quickly.

"We need to talk about this. Your shitting your pants because I love your food" Emma sighed as she looked at Regina like she's stupid.

"No. I told you no. Not today anyway. I really really don't want to" the brunette replied showing she was agitated and annoyed.

"Regina"

"No!" She snaps to cut the blonde off.

"Fine" Emma sighed before she started eating. The blonde finished her dinner quickly. So quick Regina was only half way through hers when Emma was done. The blonde cleaned her mouth and stood up. "I'm done. Thanks" she said as she took the plate and her cutlery out the room.

"Fuck sake" Regina sighed knowing how stupid she was.

Emma went to the kitchen and washed it all up. She dried her hands and sighed. She never meant to say that she loved Regina but she did. The blonde huffed before leaving the room. She walked back into the dining room but only a little getting the attention of Regina.

"I'm going to sleep. Good night and thanks for dinner" Emma awkwardly said not wanting to look at her.

"Your sleeping? Now" Regina asked very confused why the woman who stays up late every night was sleeping early.

"Yeah. I'm tired. Happy new year and see you next year" Emma quickly replied knowing Regina wasn't falling for it.

Before another word could be said the blonde left the room. She went up to her room that she was staying in. She changed into shorts and a vest top before climbing in bed and going on her phone. Meanwhile Regina was sat looking at her plate with the rest of her food on.

"God dammit" she sighed slamming her fists down.

She stood up quickly and took her plate to the kitchen. She wasn't going to finish the food since she lost her appetite. She washed it up while trying to stay calm. Regina knew she wasn't ready and she knew Emma wasn't ready to say I love you. She couldn't handle something like that. The brunette went up to her room and done the same as Emma. Both woman were just lead there for a few hours. Not knowing if the other was awake. Emma looked at the clock and sighed.

"11:59. Another New Years with no one" Emma whispered to herself as she let out a large breath. All she'd ever wanted was a kiss on New Years. She had seen so many but never had hers. She watched parents kiss there children. Couples kiss there partners. Best friends share a kiss on the cheek. Everyone but her. The door to her bedroom then opened and Regina walked in. "What you doing" Emma asked confused.

Regina didn't say anything. She climbed into bed and watched the clock. She waited a few seconds. Waiting for the 59 to change to 00. It finally did and Regina's gaze turned to Emma.

"Happy New Year em" the brunette whispered as she held Emma's cheek.

She leaned in slowly and pressed her lips against the blondes. She knew how much Emma wanted her New Years kiss and she wasn't heartless enough to not give her it. The kiss was passionate and deep. They didn't plan on pulling away until air became there problem. It soon did. The girls part and lock eyes.

"Happy New Year to you too" Emma said chuckling as she was still a little shocked by it.

"We're still not talking about what you said earlier but I'm not a heartless monster as my deceased husband called me. I wanted you to have your New Years kiss" Regina explained as she reached across the bed and held Emma's hip.

"Well thank you" the blonde chuckled as she moved up closer to Regina.

"Also I was thinking. I know you don't love me. You think you do but honestly i know you don't. We don't love each other. It's way too soon. That said. I know I have stupid feelings for you. I have no idea why but I do. So what I'm saying is this. Will you go into this new year as my girlfriend" Regina asked as she smiled brightly.

"Nah maybe next year" Emma shrugged as she turned her head away. She laughed earning her a slap on the ass by Regina. The blonde looked back at her laughing still. "I'm kidding. Of course I will"

Regina chuckled as she placed her hand onto Emma's cheek. She pecked her lips and rested her head upon the blondes.

"Good. Now how about you say we go to my room and have our first this year" Regina asked as she pulls Emma's body closer to her.

"Or right here" the blonde smirks leaning in to kiss the woman in front.
