Regina was driving her car with Emma sat next to her. The blonde was looking out the window with her head resting against it. The whole ride was silent. Neither wanted to speak nor knew what to say. Once at Regina's house they both sat there.

"When did this start" the brunette woman softly asked as she looked across at the blonde.

"The day you phoned me from your parents" Emma replied as she moved only her eyes to look at her teacher.

Regina nods softly. She took her seatbelt off and got out the car. She walked around it and to the passengers door. She opened it as Emma took her belt off. The blonde got out meaning Regina was able to close the door. They walked towards the front door to the house. Regina unlocked it and stepped in. Letting Emma in before shutting it.

"Follow me upstairs. You need a shower" Regina said walking towards her stairs.

"I know" the blonde sighed looking down.

Emma followed in silence. Realising how ashamed she was of herself. As she walked up the stairs she didn't realise a few tears leave her eyes. Regina took her to the on sweet bathroom that was in her room. It was the nicest in the house. Regina opened her bedroom door and turned the light on. She looked round at Emma and saw the tears stained on her cheeks.

"Don't be sad" Regina softly said as she wiped it away.

"I'm sorry. I don't know how this happened. I didn't mean to snap at you like that" Emma said looking down and holding in any tears she had.

"It's ok. Showers in here" Regina replied smiling slightly and walking toward the bathroom door. They walked in and Regina to the shower. She turned it on and pulled the curtain across. "There you go. Call me if you need anything" Regina said looking at the vulnerable blonde.

"Thanks" Emma replied as she lifted her top up and over her head.

"I'll have pyjamas on the bed waiting for you. A towel is there on the door. When your out come downstairs and to the kitchen" Regina said walking out the door to give Emma privacy.

The blonde stripped down to nothing and stepped into the shower. As the water hit down on her tears began to leave her eyes. She was in pain as she realised she had become her worst nightmare. Emma washed her body and her hair in Regina's shower. She got out wrapping herself in a towel. Emma went to Regina's bedroom and saw a pair of shorts and a tank top. She smiled as she changed into them. She plats her hair and heads for the stairs. Going to the kitchen.

"Thanks for that" Emma said as she walked in with a slight smile.

"Well you don't look too much like shit now. Drink this. It will help sober you up" Regina said as she looked round with a slight smile at the blonde.

"Thanks... and thanks for the shower" Emma softly thanked as she took the drink and sat at Regina's island.

"So why did you do this to yourself" the brunette asked as she walked around the island and stood in front of Emma.

"I'm not telling you yet. First you tell me why you never open up to me" Emma ordered knowing this was her chance. She took a mouthful of the drink and looked disgusted at it. "That taste like tart"

"It's not supposed to taste nice" Regina sighed while sitting at a stool next to Emma. "You want my story. Fine. I want yours after though. It all started with my school boyfriend which was josh. He cheated on me. I tried talking to my mum about it but she just told me to cry on the inside like a winner. That's what I do from now on" Regina replied as she was looking down and upset by her memory.

"Crying on the inside doesn't make you a winner" Emma said softly as she lifted Regina's chin to look in her eyes.

"Being drunk and high doesn't make you a winner either" Regina replied looking at her with her brows raised.

"Touché. I guess it's my turn" Emma sighed placing the drink on the counter of the island.

"Yes it is. Spill it swan" Regina ordered as she held Emma's hand softly to comfort her.

"The day you phoned my roommate asked me if I wanted to out with her and her mates. I said yes but never planned on actually going. Later that day I met your husband at the bar when I was at work" Emma starts to explain what happened.

"You did? Ow god. Did he say anything bad to you or hurt you" Regina asked worried at what he might have told her.

"He knew I was the girl you went home with that night at the bar. He was asking me all these questions about if we were together. He asked if I knew you were incapable of love and that you were a loveless monster. I tried defending you but he was angry and horrible. I told him I had feelings for you and he said that you can't ever love a poor girl like me" Emma admits looking down and thinking about that night.

Emma sweetened the tea with that. She didn't think to mention that josh scared her. He was horrible with the way he spoke and the way he acted. Regina looked at Emma shocked. She didn't know what part shocked her more. The fact josh called her a heartless monster Or that Emma had feelings for her. She knew right now wasn't the time to ask questions. Emma was still drunk and high.

"You need sleep. You'll sleep in my bed tonight and I'll take the spare bedroom. You need a good night sleep" Regina said as she stood up from the stool.

"Alright" Emma said as she dragged herself off the chair.

Regina took Emma to her room. Holding her up as they walked since Emma was growing tried and clumsier. They walked into Regina's room which they were previously in. The brunette helped Emma into the bed and pulled the covers over her. Tucking her in.

"Sleep well. Tomorrow we will decide if you go to college or not" Regina said standing up straight from the bed.

"Wait. Can you lie with me? Just until I fall asleep" Emma asked as she sat up a little from the middle of the large bed.

Regina was just looking at her. She thought about what Emma had said previously. The brunette pushed it away and decided to climb into bed with Emma.

"As long as you sleep I'll stay" Regina whispered as she placed the covers over her.

Emma cuddled up into Regina's arms and nods softly agreeing. The brunette held her close to her. She wanted to protect Emma. Regina couldn't help but feel she leaving caused this. If she was here when josh approached Emma she'd have sorted it out that day. She was going to sort him out. Regina planted a soft kiss on Emma's head and left her lips there for a few seconds.
