The next morning - it's 11:32 so yeah, it's still the morning - I wake up to the sound of my phone ringing. It's Harry but I don't want to talk to him.
I go in the kitchen to take my breakfast and chat with Granny. Harry keeps calling and texting me. At some point I pick up out of annoyance.
-- Will you stop spamming me, I say.
-- Hi Kitty, how are you, he says with a cheerful tone.
-- What do you want?
-- Are you still mad at me?
-- What do you want, I repeat ignoring his question.
Because of course I'm still pissed!
-- Can you go outside? I'm at the gate and... Tom's not with me.
-- I'm eating breakfast right now.
-- Kitty, come on...
He won because I can't resist him when he uses that voice. I'm sure he knows it too. And it bugs me so much!
I finish my glass of juice and go out. I walk the alley barefoot, still in my pyjamas, and see Harry smiling at me from the gate.
I can't help but smile back and he must take it for his cue to come in because he opens the gate - I don't think it's ever locked - and meets me up.
-- That's a nice car you got yourself, he smirks nodding toward the old Chrysler. Will you give me a ride?
He takes me into a hug and even tho' I told myself I wouldn't let him, I do. But it makes me happy that he remembers I was supposed to pass my driving licence before coming here. I don't hug him back tho'...I know, it's childish.
-- I don't know if you worth it, I say.
-- What can I do to make you change your mind, he replies with a low voice - lower than I remembered it could be.
He backs me against my car. His blue eyes are so intense... I can feel my pulse racing and my body aching for him to hold me tighter. For him to kiss me like he did last year...
-- I may have an idea myself, he adds still using that sexy voice.
-- Really, I ask but my voice is more shakky that I wished it would be.
I put my arms around his neck and he leans over - when did he got so tall? - to put his lips on my cheek then my chin. Now this is the reunion I have been dreaming of all year long!
We start kissing and holly strawberry it's like someone lighted up fireworks inside me. And I know, on top of my 17 years of non existent love experience, I know deep down in my heart that I am utterly, blissfully in love with him. There is no question anymore.
-- So...I was thinking, he says as we break apart, fancy spending the day in Brighton with us?
He still has his hands on my waist and I feel him squeezing a bit as he smiles at me. He looks so freaking good! How is that even fair?
-- Sure, I say smiling back.
-- Cool. Can you drive us there?
I smirk smugly and pat my car.
-- Prepare to be amazed!
He chuckles and kisses me again.
Since it's almost noon, we settle on meeting after lunch - not that I'm gonna eat any since i still haven't finished my breakfast...- and we both head back to our home. I finish eating and go back to my room to choose a little summer dress. The same I was wearing when Harry and I first kissed...I hope it'll please him.
I take a quick shower and try to do my hair nicely without it looking like I put to much effort in it...Well it end up being just loose hair. Why do I even bother, I never try to look pretty with Harry, I'm always just...me? So it shouldn't change now that we are a thing...
I go back to the kitchen to tell Granny I'll be out until late tonight and I'm not really surprised to find Mr Kingsley chatting with her. Mr Kingsley is the neighbour from down the field, after the pond. He lives alone with his dogs since before I was even born and I think he fancies my Granny. He comes almost everyday to help her with the house since my granddad died 15 or 14 years ago. Well I'm glad he does because I would have hate her to have to sell this house!
-- Hello Amelia, he smiles at me. Is that your car I saw in the alley?
-- Yes, I beam proudly. Just got my licence last week!
-- Gosh, it seems like it was yesterday I was helping you ride your bike, he laughs.
-- She's growing up too fast, says Granny while taking me into a hug.
I kiss her on the cheek and tell her I'm about to go to Brighton with Harry and his mate.
-- And she already goes on roadtrip with boys, she pretends to whine. Be careful and no alcohol!
-- Of course Granny! Don't wait for me for dinner, I say heading to the door.
That's why vacation at Granny's are so great: she lets me do almost everything as long as I don't abuse her trust. And she doesn't tell half of it to my parents!
