A knock on the windows makes me jump and yelp. Harry and Thomas too. By reflex I press myself against Harry but I soon hear the familiar voice of Mr. Kingsley and start to relax.
He knocks again and I sneak out from the back seat to the front - it's a 3-door car so there's no doors on the back - and get out. Shoot! I forgot how cold it was outside! I cross my arms in an attempt to keep some body warmth and I hear the boys coming out of the car too.
-- I reckon you need some help with that, says Mr Kingsley pointing to my flat tire.
-- How did you found us, I ask.
-- Your grandmother was starting to alert the whole neighborhood when you didn't showed up after midnight. We knew you were heading to Brighton and there are just 2 ways of getting there so it was not that hard. The Kerry went on the other road, he adds to Harry as they are his stepmother's parents. Your grandmother stayed home in case you'd show up in the meantime. Now come on chaps, hop on! We'll take care of that tire later.
We just stare at him wordlessly and then I feel someone putting the blanket on my shoulders again. I turn to thank Harry but it's Thomas. Again. Okay, he's really thoughtful, I can give him that. A bit stupid, but thoughtful.
All 3 of us take a sit in the back of Mr. Kingsley's car, me behind the driver's seat, as the passenger seat is already occupied by his huge dog. The thing looks like a werewolf really, it gives me the creeps!
I rest my head on Harry's shoulder and start to nod off again. At some point, we must reach a zone where our phones get some signal again because I feel Harry's buzzing in his pocket. I don't really listen as he calls Mrs Kerry to tell her we are fine and on our way home. I'm so tired...
I'm half asleep when we arrive and I can hear Harry and Thomas whispering but I can't really get what they're saying. I wish I could just teleport myself inside my bed...! I hear the door opening and I feel arms slipping under my armpits and knees.
-- It's okay, I can carry her, she's not that heavy.
Is that Thomas? Oh please don't make me open my eyes, I feel like it's gonna cost me too much efforts. He lifts me out of the car, resting my head on his shoulder. I shiver from the chill air but I'm too lazy to move. I just let him carry me inside. I think I hear Granny's voice at some point but I'm not sure.
I don't really recall of him putting my down. I wake up hours later tucked in and still wearing my clothes. My phone is ringing but I don't want to move yet. I open one eye and look at my clock. Shoot it's already noon!
I grunt and grab my phone. Of course, it's Harry texting me.
" Movie night? We'll be on our own ;) "
For a second I think he is talking about us, I mean him and me, and my heart start beating real fast. But then I realise he's most probably referring to Thomas too...
Well, I guess a movie night without adults to chaperon us is good enough, even if I don't get to- To what actually? What was I hoping for? Making out with Harry for as long as I wanted? Sure. But I'd be lying to myself if I said I was not thinking of...more intimate things.
That's what happen when you have to wait a year to see your boyfriend again. I got myself a little too much into fantasies and I want everything to happen now. I can't wait no more!
Holy strawberry, I'm such a fool...
