// The 6th summer //
I shove my bag in my Dad's car and look down the alley. I was hoping I could see Kitty one last time before going home but she's probably still sleeping.
We almost stayed up all night yesterday, mostly kissing. It was nice...I mean, she seemed to quite enjoy it so I guess I was doing alright?
I barely had a couple hours of sleep. Thank god we didn't got ourselves completely wasted or I would have had a hard time packing up this morning.
I rest my elbows on the car and sight. I have to admit I'm a bit sad...Maybe I could have give her a proper goodbye kiss?
I feel a hand on my shoulder and turn around to find her. I smile all teeth out. She's yawning, still in her pyjamas and barefoot - 'cause she always is - but she came!
I take her into a hug and she snuggles against me. We don't need to speak to understand each other - well at least that's what I like to think, but really, most of the time I'm clueless with her - so we just enjoy the embrace.
I know she'll still be here for two weeks and I wished I could stay too, but I'm supposed to go back at my mom's with Charlotte...
I remove some hair from her neck and kiss her skin gently. She hugs me tighter and I barely hear her saying:
-- What are we doing Harry?
See, now I don't get her...Or I just don't want to think about what she means. So I do what I always do then : I dodge.
I take her face in my hands and pull her into a kiss. I feel her tensing for a second but then she leans on me. I slip my tongue between her lips, still holding her face gently. She lets out a soft moan like she did last night and it makes me kinda proud.
We keep on making out until I hear the door opening behind me and she steps back swiftly. My right hand stays on her cheek. She licks her lips and I brush my thumb on them. Then I tuck both my hands in my pockets and look down. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to say...
-- I'll see you next year I guess, she whispers.
-- Yeah...I'll try to stay longer.
-- You still can't come over during the other holidays?
-- I don't know Kitty...
Well that's a bit of a lie actually. I could come here more often but come on, there is nothing to do here. At least during summer we can swim in the pond but I can't imagine how boring winter can be around here...
And I need to spend some times with my mates from school too. I hope I'll make some cool ones at the Brit!
I take a glance behind to see if anyone's watching us before kissing her one last time. Dodging, again.
-- Harrison you're good to go, asks my dad.
-- Yeah I'm coming, I shout back then add to Kitty: See you soon.
She smiles sadly and I feel bad for her so I squeeze her hand once before getting in the car. My Dad and Charlotte probably saw us snogging but neither of them say anything about that. My sister is too young to care and Dad...Well Dad is Dad.
I look in the side rear mirror and see Kitty waving at me, barefoot on the grass by the side of the road, until I can't see her anymore.
