griffin brown laughed with his twin sister, abby, as they ran down the street. the two were ten years old, laughing as they ran away from the orphanage they were at, towards the park. the paused when they saw a curly haired boy with a blond girl, griffin glancing over and putting his arm on his sister's shoulders.

griffin moved slowly, grinning at his sister when they got near the curly haired boy and running off towards the playground set.

the curly haired boy furrowed his eyebrows, looking around for any parents that might have been following the twins. he didn't question it, however, just glancing at isla.

the blond was looking over at the two, abby running over to the girl and beginning to swing with her. "i'm abby!" the girl hummed, smiling brightly.

"i'm isla," isla smiled, swinging quietly. "are you here alone?"

abby just shook her head, "my bubby came with me, his name is griffin. " she hummed, going a little bit too high.

isla stared at her, just continuing to swing. "oh, where's he?" she questioned, watching abby.

"he's over there!" abby smiled, pointing towards the brunette boy who was playing on the monkey bars. "did you come here alone?"

"no, that's my brother, jack." isla hummed, pointing towards the curly haired boy.

"oh," abby nodded slowly, "griff!" she called, griffin jumping down from the monkey bars and running over.

"yeah, abby?" griffin hummed, stuffing his hands in his pockets.

"this is isla, she already knows who you are. i told her," abby hummed, her eye's widening when the headmistress of the orphanage barged out of the door. "griff, we gotta go." she whispered.

griffin looked up, furrowing his eyebrows and seeing the headmistress. "hi, i'm griffin. it was nice to meet you, but we really have to go now." he breathed quickly, "if a lady comes asking about us, please say you've never seen us. c'mon, abby!" he grabbed her hand, running off quickly.

the old lady did come over, walking over to jack and asking if he'd seen the kids. just as he opened his mouth to speak, isla walked over and shook her head. "we've never seen them, i came with him and i saw everything he did."

jack glanced at her, biting his cheek and nodding. "i've never seen 'em, miss."
