The Time of the Doctor - 2

"What did you say?" The Doctor asks both of us.

"Gallifrey," Handles said.

"Gallifrey," I repeat.

"Why do you think that?" He asks me.

"The message sounds familiar, it's almost like I've heard it before somewhere a long while ago"

"What do you mean?" He asks Handles. He grabbed the head and brought it over to the screen showing us the planet below. "See that? Gallifrey is my home. I know it when I see it. That is not Gallifrey"

He put the head down and went over to the door. "Doctor, you okay?" Clara asked, rushing after him.

"It's not Gallifrey. Gallifrey's gone"

"Unless, unless you saved it. You thought you might have"

I went over and looked out the door with them, down at the planet. There was nothing familiar about it but I felt drawn to it.

"Gallifrey Falls No More," I find myself saying.

"Even if it survived, it's gone from this universe. That is not my home," he says, closing the door and going back to the console. "It can't be"

There was a loud horn blaring outside. I stuck my head back out to look and saw a big flying church.

"The first ship to arrive," the Doctor says. "They're the ones who shielded the planet. Thy can get us down there"

A hologram of a woman's face appeared on the front of the church and the Doctor and I bowed.

"Friend of yours?" Clara asks.

"Tasha Lem. The Mother Superius"

She invited us aboard, but first the Doctor gave Clara a hologram projector because as the Doctor stated, "you can't go to church with your clothes on". I grabbed a purse because I didn't like going anywhere without supplies.

"I don't feel like I'm wearing anything," Clara whispered as we approached Tasha.

"I know. Relaxing, isn't it?"

"What is this place?"

"Church of the Papal Mainframe. Security hub of the known universe"

"Security church?"

"Yep, keeping you safe in this world and the next," we stopped in front of Tasha and the Doctor bowed again. "I venerate the Exaltation of the Mother Superius"

Clara and I bowed as well, then a man standing beside Tasha spoke. "Welcome. Your nudity is appreciated"

"Hey, babes," Tasha said to the Doctor.

"Loving the frock," The Doctor told her.

"Is that a new body? Give us a twirl"

"Tush, this old thing? Please, I've been rocking it for centuries," he said, turning around.

"Nice though. Tight. Now who's this?" Her eyes moved over to me, I was standing right next to the Doctor.

"The Revenant/Witness," he says with a smile.

"Revenant, good to see you. You're looking quite beautiful,"

"Thanks, although getting it was a bit of a surprise for me, wasn't expecting to regenerate," I say.

"So, uh, hello. Also here," Clara says.

"Clara, this is Tasha Lem, head of the church of the Papal Mainframe. Tash, oh-ho-ho, this is my..." the Doctor paused, not knowing what to say. "My associate, Clara Oswald. Miss Clara Oswald"
