(Narrator POV)
They woke up, packed up and started moving with a speed like never before. Everyone wanted to leave and were prepared to do just about anything to do so.

At first everybody, except Murphy, thought that this might be a great place to just stay and hide from Ice Nation. Then they quickly realized why Murphy was so adamant that they would not be staying. This place was awful. No wonder Ice Nation would never look for them here, it was a terrible place to be! Nobody would want to be here long.

They were back to walking along the shore of a river to avoid Clickers and mountain lions. The bad part was, there's a pond at the end of the river. A pond that may or may not contain sirens.

Sirens are not good news. They were half woman, half fish with long black hair and green tails. They had big alien-like, black eyes, grey skin, gills and pointed ears. They were also covered in slime and seaweed and they all had on seaweed shirts of some sort. They would take shape of the thing you wanted most or they'd hypnotize you with singing and drag you into the water. Girls weren't as effected by the fishy people usually, but they could still get attacked or distracted by trying to keep the guys from getting in the water and end up hurt. Not to mention, girls could get affected, just not as easily for some reason. It also didn't effect certain boys, but that was far more rare.

So yes, Murphy was stressing over getting to the end of the river. He had told the others about the sirens and they were nervous too, but only he knew the full extent of what could happen. He'd been attacked by them before. Not hypnotized, attacked.

Basically, his mask is designed to block out the singing of sirens, he doesn't know how and he doesn't question it, but the mask keeps their noises out. And at the time there was nothing that he wanted so they had no effect. Now, however? He wanted Raven and nobody else had a mask. So, it was safe to say, they were screwed.

Just then, thunder crashed and it started pouring rain. Everyone groaned, this was the worst of the worst. Murphy's arm was already almost healed, so not too many people were surprised when he grabbed a rock and chucked it into the nearby woods with his injured arm. He was annoyed that they were still here and he was not afraid to show it. If it's been said once, it's been said a thousand times, he'd had enough and he was not a fan.

"I swear, if we ever make it out of here, I'm dropping a bomb on this freaking land of death!" He shouted over the deafening rain. It was beating down so hard that it almost hurt and they could barely hear or see each other. "This is the worst!" He spat with a quiet string of curse words following.

Now, Murphy was known for bad moods and a negative attitude, but this place truly brought out his worst sometimes. A lot of things brought out his worst, but nevertheless. In the Glowing Forest he was all smiles most of the time, but here? Oh boy, he was like the grinch on Christmas. He wanted to destroy and hurt everything. He thinks it has something to do with the air, but who knows.

They were on their way to the Plain Riders clan according to Murphy, who so far had been 100% right about everything. Also according to Murphy, the Plain Riders weren't too bad, just odd. Pretty much nobody cared though, they all just wanted away from Delphi.

As they approached the pond, it started. The singing was heard cascading over the water towards them. Most of the boys and a few of the girls turned to look at the lake. Murphy didn't look until he heard Raven scream. He spun around to see Raven in the middle of the water, calling for help. He shook his head, he knew this wasn't real and he told himself as much in his head, but it was getting to him anyway.

When he started walking toward the water he felt two hands grab his shoulders to stop him. "No! Murphy, it's not real, okay? You saved me from the fog, I'll save you from this." He wouldn't look down to the person speaking. Raven was still able to see that his eyes were glazed over. "Murph! Honey, look at me please. It's not real!" She practically begged, she didn't want him to go in and get drowned. "What do you see?" She changed tactics in the final sentence.

"Raven's in the lake! Let me go!" He hollered as she pinned him down to the ground. It was hard considering his powers and training, but neither one of them realized that he was barely fighting. Subconsciously, he knew that Raven was the one pushing him and he also couldn't hurt her in any way so his powers didn't even work on her.

Everyone else was being pulled back by someone and they were fairing okay on their own so Raven focused on Murphy.

"Stop! Murphy look at me, I'm right here. I'm not in the lake, okay?" She smiled and kept eye contact. His eyes looked almost completely grey-ish white because of how fogged over they were. She debated kissing him, but decided that would be a last resort because it was something she'd like to have him remember.

The rain was beating down impossibly hard and it didn't appear to be stopping anytime soon. Sirens mainly appeared at night or during storms, so it'd be lovely for the storm to pass.

Raven decided that she'd just pin him until the rain stopped, if necessary. Then she got an idea. "Pull them far enough away so that they can't hear or block their hearing somehow! Singing to them also may work!" She shouted to the others, who were holding people back or down. So far only three people got into the water.

She got up and started dragging the struggling ex Sky person away from the beach. Eventually, she got far enough that she couldn't hear the sirens, which most likely meant that he could barely hear them. His eyes were still foggy and he was trying to get back to the water so she sat down and started singing. Usually she didn't sing, but she was pretty good at it. She placed herself behind him and pulled him closer so he couldn't claw his way back to the women in the water. She began the song You Are The Reason by Calum Scott.

Once she finished the song she looked to see if Murphy was okay and indeed he was. He was actually grinning. "You have a pretty voice, by the way." He smiled.

She scoffed. "Whatever." She smiled. She was happy he was okay. Not to mention she was a bit flattered that she was apparently what he wanted most.

"Thanks for saving me also." He said after. He was glad she saved him because anyone else probably would've gotten hurt trying.

"Anytime." She smiled. She's glad that he was good now. "So, I'm what you want most?" She asked with a grin. The sirens turned into what you wanted most and his turned into her.

He chuckled nervously as they started walking back toward the group. "Uh, yes." He said honestly.

"You're what I want most too." She kissed his cheek quickly, then ran to help Luna get Finn standing. She didn't see the smile she had put on his face, but she knew it was there.

After everyone regrouped away from the water and Murphy of course continued with his joke by saying "51.", they started walking again. Normally, they'd take a break after an event like this, but they were more interested in leaving. As they walked toward the end of Delphi, Murphy said one last thing that they could all agree with.

"I am never coming back."
