Warning! Snakes, water and possible drowning.

The song in this chapter is Whatever It Takes By imagine dragons
(Narrator POV)
Murphy was under water. The cave was filling up and Murphy was the last one. Drowning was one of his worst fears which always sickened him since he loved to swim. His lungs burn and collapse and Murphy feels sick.

Falling too fast to prepare for this.

He wasn't supposed to go out like this. Murphy is not dying like this. He's gonna die fighting.

Tripping in the world could be dangerous.

Murphy woke up with a gasp and he swore that he could feel the water in his lungs. (A/N it was a dream guys, don't worry) Then when he put his hand down on the ground, his heart was stricken with fear and his gut twisted.

Everybody circling, it's vulturous. Negative, nepotist.

Water. The bottom of the cave was filling with water. He sat up further and looked around wildly. Raven sat up and looked at him. "You okay?" She questioned.

Everybody waiting for the fall of man.

He swallowed past the lump in his throat and answered. "You see the water too, right?" He asked instead of answering. No, he wasn't okay. He was panicking.

Everybody praying for the end of times.

She looked over and her eyes widened too. "Yes, I see it!" She exclaimed as she stood. "We are so floated." She sighed.

Everybody hoping they could be the one.

"More like sunk." Murphy mumbled as he shook Jasper and Luna awake. They both got up and just stared at the water. Luna with peace and Jasper with paralyzing fear. Murphy picked Aspen up and just let her sleep so he wouldn't scare her.

I was born to run, I was born for this.

Then Murphy noticed something that made him even more sick. Snakes. Big snakes. Murphy passed Aspen over to Raven and pulled out a sword. This was like his own personal hades.

Whip, whip. Run me like a racehorse. Pull me like a ripcord.

The snakes got closer and Murphy was really realizing how much he truly hated them. About 4 feet long, dark green and black, and about as big around as his arm. Water snakes too to top it all off.

Break me down and build me up.

Murphy immediately went to higher ground so the rest followed. "Hey! This place is filling with water and snakes!" He shouted to the people on the other side. No response. They appeared to be on their own for now.

I wanna be the slip, slip. Word upon your lip, lip. Letter that you rip, rip.

The snakes hissed viciously at them and Raven hugged Aspen closer to her. These snakes were poisonous and they all knew it from the purple venom dripping from their fangs. Murphy moved to be slightly in front of Raven and he pulled out a gun that he could use with one hand as the snakes got closer.

Whatever it takes.

The snakes suddenly, miraculously leapt at them and it was a flurry of sword swings and fired shots. The snakes hissed and snapped but all fell dead in the end. Murphy fell back and just sat on a higher rock for a moment.

'Cause I love the adrenaline in my veins. I do whatever it takes. 'Cause I love how it feels when I break the chains.

Whatever it takes.

"God, I hate snakes."

(An hour later)
When an hour passed, the water was rising at an extreme rate. Finally, the other group woke up so digging could start again. Now it wasn't something to do slowly. They had a limited time now because that water was rising fast.

Once the water made it to about knee deep, they got desperate. Luna volunteered to hold Aspen while the others scraped at the wall.

At waist deep, Jasper began to really panic. He had to stop digging so that Luna could calm him down because he was shaking too much to really make a difference on the wall.

Only a few minutes after Jasper quit to calm down, Murphy had had it. The dirt just kept falling over them and they weren't strong enough to dislodge all of the rocks in the way. Aspen was slowly waking up because she was also in the water now.

He wasn't good at his Earth powers yet, but what power was he great at? Shapeshifting. He made the others back up and then he turned into a lion and began to tear at the wall with a new vigor. Clawing at the dirt and stone ferociously.

Eventually, by some miracle, it worked. For some reason, the pure beating that he gave the wall as a lion didn't make any dirt fall like it did when they were slowly prying away the icy mud, dirt and rock.

When they finally made it out, they ran to dry land and collapsed. Walking more could wait.

"Are you guys okay?!" Finn asked as he rushed to Luna. Raven, Murphy and Aspen were all laying on the ground by each other and Jasper was being doted over by Monty and Maia. Murphy was the one to reply, with snark, of course.

"Well..." He looked around at everyone. "We're still alive." He shrugged with a grin before flopping back.

Tomorrow meant Trikru and hopefully no more water.

A/N sorry it's really short but I'm excited for an upcoming chapter so this just worked as a filler.
