The rest of the weekend passed quickly. I went home Sunday afternoon. I had an email from our principle asking to do a tour for some of the new students on Monday morning. I sent something back agreeing to be there early. He sent something back, saying that I would have a group of four and he contacted them to be at the school at 8. Great, now I have to get up early. At least I wouldn't have to ride with Archie.

Speak of the devil, Archie texted as soon as I went up to my room.

A: Hey! What are you up to?

B: Putting away my new clothes and getting ready for tomorrow. You?

A: Nothing. Want to go to dinner?

B: umm. I guess but I have to be back early. I have to be at school at 8. I'm doing new student tours. Who are we going with?

A: No one. Just us. Pop's?

B: Uhhh. OK.

A: I'll pick you up at 5.

B: Fine but I need to be home by 9.

I was confused and worried so I texted V and C.

B: Arch just asked me to go to dinner at Pop's tonight with him. Like alone with him.

C: Oh no

V: I thought that this would happen soon. He's been acting strange all summer. Especially after your glow up.

B: My glow up?

V: Yep. You have gotten super confident lately and working at the auto shop has made you strong in all the right places.

C: Yep. The last few years, you've turned from a beautiful girl into a total hottie.

B: Thanks, I guess. But what am I going to do?

C: Just be honest with him. I know that you've tried to send him hints that you aren't interested but maybe just say it? Tell him that you would hate to ruin the friendship.

V: OH MY GOD

B: What?

V: Kevin just texted me. Rumor is Arch is going to try to "lock you down" tonight before school. He is worried that someone else will ask you out tomorrow.

B: NOOOOO

C: I've got it! Just tell him that you are concentrating on your studies this year. To make sure you get into a good school?

B: That won't work. He knows that I already have early acceptance.

V: Maybe say that you want to enjoy your freedom since it's your senior year?

C: Or that your mom won't let you?

B: maybe

C: or you could just tell him the truth. That you aren't interested and you like to make out with random dudes a town over..... and that you think Jughead is cute....

B: Stop.

V: well you do......

B: Maybe but he assumes that I'm the "perfect girl next door" just like everyone else.

C: he might now but if he's anything like he used to be, he'll will figure us all out soon. He already saw us at the club.

B: I doubt it. You know how people are, especially around here. They see what they want to see.
