Shuhua's POV
"Hey you," I closed my eyes before turning around. "So, would you like to maybe go out?"
"Y/n," I started. "We're friends and only friends."
"Okay," she lowered her hand with flowers in it. "I can't even take you out to the arcade."
"It'd still be a date," I turned my back to her to continue getting my books from my locker. "Plus, we've been friends since diapers. I don't wanna ruin that with you."
"But-" I cut her off.
"Y/n," I pushed my finger to her lips. "I can't and I won't date you."
"Fine," she walked away making my heart slightly ache but I shrugged it off.
"This girl," I sighed shutting my locker. "Y/n wait!"
I ran after her before grabbing her wrist. I turned her to me only to see a tear running down her face.
"Look," I started. "I like you but only as a friend. I love you but as a friend. I can't be with you, please understand that. I'll still hang it with you though."
"Sure," she walked off again making my stomach churn.
I sighed as she turned the corner. Someone bumped into me making me glare at them.
"Oh hey Shuhua," I blushed seeing that is was my crush, Renjun. "I didn't see you there."
"It's o-okay," I internally cursed myself for stuttering.
"Babe!" I saw a girl run to him.
"Hey," he smiled then embraced the girl. "Shuhua, meet my girlfriend, Jo Yuri."
I nodded to the girl before walking to my class. I slammed my books onto my desk making Y/n jump.
"What's wrong with you?" She looked at me worried.
"Renjun has a girlfriend," I sat into the chair. "My crush is taken."
"Oh," I looked to Y/n seeing her looking down. "I'm sorry."
"It's fine," I shook my head. "There's better people out there somewhere."
~~TIME SKIP~~
I opened my locker to see flowers and a teddy bear. I sighed before arms wrapped around my waist from behind.
"Y/n," I started. "Stop doing this."
"Go out with me," she begged.
"No," I took out the flowers and bear then set them on the ground.
"Just once Shuhua," I rolled my eyes at her stubbornness.
"No Y/n," I put my bag into my locker. "I don't want to."
"But-," I shook my head telling her to be quiet. "I-Shuhua, please."
"No," I picked up the stuff before handing it to Y/n. "I already told you I won't because I don't want to ruin our friendship."
She looked down sadly then walked off. I sighed as I watched her retreating back. I grabbed my books then walked to class.
I heard groaning from the back of the room. My curiosity got the best of me. I walked back quietly only to discover two boys beating up Y/n.
"Fucking idiot," one said. "She'll never like you."
"I know," I heard her weak voice. "I know she won't, but I'll keep loving her."
