Y/n's POV
I walked down the hall with my head down. I wasn't a nerd or anything, I just didn't care. My shoulder collided with someone making me stop.
"Shit," I mumbled. "I'm so sorry."
I reached down to help collect their papers before I saw someone who betrayed me five years ago.
"Mina?"
"Y/n?" She stared at my face. "Oh my god, how are you?"
She tried to hug me but I pushed her away. I put my earbuds back in then continued walking to class.
"I'm not that stupid Kang Mina," I whispered.
Mina's POV
"I see you've been acquainted with the asshole of the school," I turned to see Sejeong.
"Y/n's not an asshole," I shook my head. "She's really sweet."
"If only that was true," Sally wrapped her arm around my waist. "Let's walk to class."
I followed them to a classroom before sitting with them. I looked around finding Y/n sitting alone in the corner.
"She's always like that," I turned my head to see a girl. "I'm Song Yuqi."
"Kang Mina," I shook her hand. "I'm from Jeju Island and so is Y/n."
"Really?" I nodded. "You two are friends?"
"Used to be," I half smiled.
"What happened?" She looked at me intrigued.
"Well......," I started.
~~FLASHBACK~~
"Mina!" I turned around to see Y/n running to me. "I wanted to ask you something."
I nodded before some music started. I giggled seeing her starting to dance.
It was awkward though, I was considered popular while she was my best friend who was deemed a nerd.
During her dance, I noticed my "friends" walk up. I noticed them laughing before some guys came to them with some plastic bags.
I finished watching Y/n dance before walking to me with flowers and a teddy bear. She smiled at me then she started to speak.
"Mina," she laughed. "I love you so much, not as a friend but more than that. You make my heart beat fast and all sorts of things. I like you for who you are; beautiful, talented, funny, cute, adorable, Hell I could go on and on but it'd take forever." I started blushing making the crowd around us coo. "I guess what I'm trying to say is, will you be my girlfriend?"
"Boo!" My "friends" started throwing eggs at her making her cower. "Like she'd ever want you!"
"Here Mina," my friend Doyeon handed me an egg. "I think you should reject her."
Deep down, I knew I loved her too. But it could hurt my reputation in this school.
"I'm sorry Y/n," I gripped the egg. "But no."
I threw it at her making it hit her in the face. It splattered making everyone cheer me on. I saw the hurt look in her eyes.
"Fuck you," she ran off.
I wanted to go after her by my "friends" pulled me into a hug with them. My attention got averted to them as they started singing.
~~FLASHBACK OVER~~
"I've honestly never felt so stupid before," I felt a tear slip down my face.
Yuqi just stared at me with a blank expression. She looked back to Y/n seeing her with her head down.
"But she seems so nice," she looked back to me. "I mean, why'd you hurt her so bad if you liked her back?"
"The popularity game," I rolled my eyes. "I was young and stupid. I regret not getting with her then."
I sighed then laid my head onto my hand. My heart fluttered when I saw Y/n look to me. I smiled but she turned away from me.
"I think it'll take sometime for her to trust you," I heard Soyee say. "I heard everything by the way."
I smiled at her before the teacher walked in and started his lecture on the Korean War.
~~TIME SKIP~~
The bell rang making everyone pack up. I saw Y/n leave quickly making me follow her. She went outside before pulling something out of her sock.
"What the hell are you doing?!" I took the lit cigarette and stomped on it.
"Drowning myself from all the emotions I feel that are pent up inside me," Y/n stared into my eyes. "Why are you here Kang?"
I flinched before seeing her eyes that almost made her seem dead inside. I grabbed her hand and squeezed it tight.
"Because I love you," I whispered. "And that's never changed."
I moved my hand to her cheek and caressed it softly. She leaned her head onto my hand making me smile.
"Aye fuckhead!" I turned around to see two guys walking to Y/n aggressively. "Leave this girl alone, she's one of us now."
"Wait, you are?" Y/n looked to me with a saddened expression.
"What? No," I backed away from the other guy who was holding me by the waist. "I don't even know you two."
"I'm Yeonjun and this is Changbin," the first guy smirked. "I think we should go, shall we pretty lady?"
"We shall not," I backed away from them both. "I am going to stay with Y/n because she's my girlfriend."
"Jjinja?" Changbin started laughing. "But she's so ugly!"
"You're ugly," I snapped making him shut up. "No one likes a fuck boy."
He scoffed before leaving with his puppy eyed friend. I turned back to Y/n seeing her walking away from me.
"Hey!" I ran to her. "Where are you going?"
"Home," she shrugged.
"We need to finish talking," I tried. "Y/n! Stop ignoring me and listen!"
"What Mina?!" She yelled making me jump.
"I love you!" I yelled back.
"Well I fucking love you too!" She stared into my eyes. "But it only would've made a difference if you chose me back in Jeju."
"Well I'm choosing you now," I protested.
Y/n sighed then looked away from my eyes. I picked up her chin before I leaned to her. My lips pressed to her's making her grip my waist.
I dropped my books onto the ground then wrapped my arms around her neck. Our lips moved in sync before the bell rang.
"I don't think they'd mind if we skipped a day," she whispered making me smile.
"I don't think so either," we ran off the campus and waited to see where our legs were taking us. "I'm so stupid for not choosing you."
"I'm stupid for not fighting for you," Y/n said back.
