I yawned and turned in my bed, opening my eyes. Lilah's bed was empty, but I wasn't surprised. Some of the tents in the camp were empty so Lilah and I bunked together. But every day I woke up and she was gone, off with Aiden. Those two had become inseparable. I got out of bed and stretched.
I couldn't believe it had already been two months.
I quickly combed my hair with my fingers before walking outside. The sun was bright, but I spotted Caleb and I headed towards him. He had been staying in the medical tent over the past two months. As I walked up to him I spotted Ace and Travis.
Travis was like Ace's mini me I swear. I stopped walking and watched as Ace started up a fireball in his hand. He loved to show off in front of Travis. Those two had become best friends. They were always together. In fact they were even bunk mates.
Suddenly a pair of arms wrapped around my waist and picked me up. Usually, I would have taken him down but I recognized the arms. I had felt them around me plenty of times in 'Instinct Training'
"Good morning" Elijah laughed as he set me down. I laughed too as I turned to him.
"Well you're in a good mood this morning"
"What? I can't be in a good mood?" He questioned with a laugh. I turned back around and saw Caleb talking to John.
"What are they talking about?" I asked. Elijah's smile slowly faded away.
"Caleb's almost good. In a couple days he'll be ready to go"
"Elijah. I know we never talked about it but-"
"Hey, Zeya" Caleb said walking up to us. "Can I talk to you for a second?" I turned back to Elijah and he just smiled and nodded before running off to catch up with Travis.
"Whatsup?" I asked with a smile.
"Well John said in a few days I'd be alright to leave. So we've wasted two months not on our mission, I was thinking we'd leave in two days?" I just nodded. I had no clue what to say! No I didn't want to leave!
"But we can't leave yet. I'm in the middle of my training!" I blurted out.
"You're what?"
"Never mind" I shook my head and started to walk away towards Elijah but he grabbed my arm and pulled me back.
"What?" I said, looking down at his hand.
"I uh... We should uh... Go for a walk?" He stuttered looking between me and Elijah.
"I was about to go on one with Elijah though. I mean you can come too?"
"Skip it. Just stay away from him"
