Zeya's POV

My heart was beating faster and faster with every step I took. I wiped my hands on the side of my jeans and my forehead with my forearm. I couldn't shake this feeling. I couldn't even pinpoint what the feeling was. I wasn't nervous and I wasn't excited. But I don't know why I could barely breathe as I rounded the corner.

But when I looked I could see it. Sitting on a white stand, surrounded by a circle of rocks was the piece.

I slowly walked over there. My heart only beat faster and faster. I felt like I was going to die from a heart attack. I was right on the line for the circle. I was sweating like crazy and my heart felt like it was going to give out. But as soon as I crossed the line the feeling went away.

The symbols on the rocks were different from the ones at the wolf camp. I walked to the stand and looked down at the piece. It looked kind of like a triangle with an eye at its center. I could see little drawings in gold all over the triangle.

I picked it up and a shock ran through my body. A feel of energy, like if I could run a marathon without a sweat. Something flashed in my eyesight. A person's face. I couldn't remember much about the face. But I did remember his dark red eyes and evil smile. Then the feeling washed away and I was starting down at the piece. I held it with both hands and smiled.

We had done it. We had found the first piece.

"This was for you Dad" I said, closing my hand and running down the path. When I got there Caleb was waiting. "Caleb!" I yelled. He turned around.

"What's wrong?" He asked as I stopped in front of him.

"I found it" I smiled.

"What?" I opened my hand and showed him. He looked down at the piece in awe. "Just like that?" he asked, "No traps or anything?"

"It was on a stand surrounded by a circle and when I touched the piece a feeling ran through my body and I saw a glimpse of someone but that's it"

"It can't be this easy." he said, thinking and looking around.

"Well what if only we can get in the circle? I mean some of the designs on the rocks were different from the ones at the wolf camp"

"Yeah, I guess." He said, "Where's Ace?"

"He heard Lilah scream so he went to check it out" I turned around, feeling so nervous about the fact that I hadn't heard a thing from either of them. Ace came running around the corner, Lilah was in his arms. “Oh my god!" I yelled running over to them. "What happened?!"

“There was a vampire. He stabbed her" Ace said trying to catch his breath.

"So that means-" Caleb started to say but Ace interrupted him.

"It means the vampires are close behind and we have to get out of here now!"

"How are we going to get out of here?" I wondered out loud. "There are people everywhere up there. We can't exactly just run around up there with bleeding women in our hands"

"I have an idea" Ace said. "You take Lilah. When you get the signal go and run. Get back to the cabin, I’ll meet you there" He handed Lilah to Caleb and she whimpered in pain.

"What about you?" I asked. "What are you going to do?"

"Don't worry about me. I'll get back but Lilah needs us now, let’s go!" We ran to the stairs and made our way up them. We had left our hats and sunglasses at the top of the stairs. Ace picked up a pair of sunglasses and a hat. He looked around the corner and saw the next tour group coming up. He quickly put them on.

"Ace" I said grabbing his arm. He turned around to look at me as the group came up. "Be careful" He smiled.

"Don't let her die" He said before sliding under the gate and into the tourist group

Ace's POV

"And this is the end of the tour. Don't forget to take a look in the gift shop" The guide smiled as she walked off. The whole group of people walked towards the gift shop and I quietly followed. When they were about to go inside I slipped to the back of the building and hid around the corner.

A security guard rode by on a segway. He got off and started talking to a tourist who had thrown his food on the ground. That's when I lit a fireball and threw it at his segway. It burst into flames causing the guard to jump back.

People screamed in fear as I threw another one at the trashcan near the tourist. The tourist screamed and ran away. I threw a flame at the light and it burst into flames, sending pieces of glass flying everywhere and confused tourists running. In the commotion I saw Lilah, Caleb and Zeya run into the woods. But they needed a little bit more cover. I walked into the gift shop.

No one was in there.

I quickly ran around back and kicked the gas line I had been standing by earlier. As soon as it broke I set it on fire. The whole store managed to catch fire in a matter of seconds and I ran around like a crazy person with everyone else until I had the chance to jump into the woods without being noticed.

I took a breather and sat back, watching the cops trying to put the fires out. I found it amusing, and I enjoyed it for five or ten minutes until I remembered Lilah. That's when I took off towards the cabin.

I didn't stop once.

Adrenaline was pumping through my veins as I got to the cabin. I opened the door and Lilah was screaming in pain, lying on the kitchen counter. Zeya had just pulled out a fragment of the knife and Kila was holding Lilah down.

"Can we just knock her out?!" She yelled as Lilah continued to cry. I walked up as Zeya began to stich the cut.

I pulled one of Lilah's hands out of Kila's grip and put it in mine. And when I did that all the hate I felt toward her washed away. I didn't feel any guilt being there for her. All I felt was pain seeing her in pain.

Lilah looked around frantically before meeting my eyes. At that moment I couldn't love her more.

She then proceeded to squeeze the crap out of my hand.
