"Furious."

I probably should not be calling this girl mine.
Jersey and I have decided after one of the many make-outs after lights out in our room to date. Secretly, because two roommates dating during camp would probably be frowned upon, if anyone else caught on. I'm not doing anything too bad with her...mostly!
During free time, after I got out of a special meeting for my job a camp, I went straight to my dorm room and shut the door behind me. Jersey was on top of her bunk, reading a book for a summer school college class she was taking. I climbed on up, sat beside her, and kissed her forehead.
"Hey baby, how's the studying going?" I asked her.
Jersey yawned and lay her head on my shoulder. "It's just taking a while to read this chapter. Did anything exciting happen at your job?"
"Yeah, there were a couple of interesting reports that got discussed, but other than that, it was business as usual. I missed you..." I snuffled her hair.
Jersey smiled and turned her head up, kissing my lips gently. I kissed back and hugged her tightly.
There was a knock at the door. "Jersey, you in there? March?"
I groaned inwardly and separated from Jersey. It was none other than Amaryllis's voice. I swear, she is downright investigating us, and if my secret relationship with Jersey gets revealed, it will be Amaryllis who blows our cover. Nosy girl. Nosy girl with a spy camera likely in a hidden compartment in that cast.
"Here, let me get the door!" Jersey called out to her. She jumped off the bed and unlocked the door. Amaryllis was on the other side, grinning with those shiny perfect-shaped teeth. I loathed her and how she threatened what relationship I had with Jersey.
Amaryllis kept right on smiling, mostly towards Jersey. "Hey, we were all working on Kates's campaign posters and the rest of the floor is there, so if you two wanted to join so we can all be together to support her..."
"Oh crap, I was supposed to be leading that!" I jumped off the bed hurriedly. I suppose I'd pushed that thought to the side with my head being full of thoughts of having one-on-one time alone with Jersey...ahem.
Jersey and Amaryllis chuckled. They followed me out into the hall. I was halfway down to the room used for floor meetings in when I realized I couldn't feel their presence near me. I looked back and saw a corner of Amaryllis's cast poking out of the doorway to her room.
I marched back up the hallway to Amaryllis's room and stood there in the hallway, peeking in. Amaryllis was standing up, talking to Jersey, Jersey was examining Amaryllis's post that she used to hold up her cast when sleeping. Amaryllis's eyes flashed a look of annoyance briefly when she realized I was standing behind her, then her eyes echoed the likely-hollow smile she wore.
I inquired politely, "Aren't you guys coming too?"
"What? Oh yes, of course." Amaryllis walked out the door and Jersey followed her, not my, trail.

We were being excellent campaign organizers for Kates...if unorganized for organizers.
Scraps of colored paper covered the floor. Every other hand held a pair of scissors; the remaining hands held bottles of glue. I'm pretty sure I had a piece of orange construction paper glued to my cheek thanks to Watson, but I'd made sure to color all over her hands and face with markers. She was still trying to wash it all off in the bathroom with her roommate. I'd make sure to apologize tomorrow to poor Watson along with a gift of my lame attempts at trying to recreate in drawings the main character of the current anime she was reading this week.
Kates stood up and clapped her hands. We all looked up from whatever it was we were doing and paid attention.
Kates shouted, "Hey everyone! I've got a few more posters, don't cut up these ones though, just glue stuff on!"
She held up tie-dye colored posters. They had the legit tie-dye swirls and bright colors. I didn't even know those existed, but I did know one thing.
I gestured at Jersey to come closer. She leaned over and I whispered into her ear.
"Kates is so going to win!" I exclaimed.

I eventually had went in to help Watson get all the marker off, feeling bad that it was all my fault, and we hugged it out even though she's not super affectionate. I loved Watson's touch a little too much, but I'd never betray Jersey. Besides, I'm not sure Watson is even gay.
I left the bathrooms and fount Jersey in Amaryllis's room...again. They were sitting on the bed next to each other, talking quietly, and Amaryllis was in her personal space, which I was not happy about.
I entered the open doorway as Amaryllis leaned in closer to Jersey. "Hey, Jersey, it's getting late. Wanna head back to our room together?"
"Sure, March." Jersey stood up and I immediately swooped over to hold her hand.
I don't normally hold hands outside of our room because I don't want our relationship to get found out, but I'd had it with Amaryllis all up on my girl. It was time to get Amaryllis in her place.
Jersey seemed surprised but was cool with it. Amaryllis's eyes grew in disbelief and then distaste. She did not bother to smile.
I triumphantly led Jersey back to our room and shut the door. We kissed and fell into my bed, biting each others' lips and starting to use our tongues.
Even though I wanted to be completely into the kiss, I still couldn't get Amaryllis's fury out of my mind.
Her furious expression haunted me all night.
