(Serena lovers may want to look away. I myself don't like Serena, I'm not going to ruin her, but I am writing her how I saw her. This isn't a Serena-Centric chapter.)
Cayla hummed, standing to the side while Ash got ready for a battle. The challenger was a woman who introduced herself as Penelope, and seemed nice enough.
"Sylveon, come on out!" She grinned, throwing out a Pokemon. The Pokemon, Sylveon, was very pretty. It had stark white fur, with a pink tail, forehead, ears, and paws. On it's right ear was a white and pink bow with two natural ribbons that had blue and pink tips. On it's throat were the same ribbons. And Sylveon's eyes were such a lovely shade of sky blue.
"Woah, who's that Pokemon?" Ash murmured, pulling out his Poke-Dex. "Kinda looks like Espeon."
*Sylveon, the Intertwining Pokemon. And an evolution of Eevee. It wraps its ribbon like feelers around the arm of its beloved Trainer and walks with him or her.*
"Wow, so it is an evolved form of Eevee after all!" Ash grinned.
"Dawn, come out an watch!" Cayla grinned, tossing up the Poke-Ball.
"Vee!" The silver Eevee cooed, shaking out it's shiny fur. Dawn ran up, jumping into her Trainer's arms.
"Lets watch the battle together kay?" Cayla smiled.
"Eevee!" Dawn cooed.
The battle started with Ash throwing out Froakie, and Penelope saying that Ash would have to go with her, causing Serena to gawk. Ash had Froakie start off with Bubble, but Sylveon quickly blew them away with Fairy Wind, and also threw Froakie into a tree. When Froakie stood back up, Sylveon used Moonblast, fining a swirling pink orb of power towards the starter. Froakie jumped out of the way, and started kicking some apples that had fallen towards the Fairy Type. Sylveon used it's ribbons, hitting all the apples away, but it was a diversion. Froakie jumped over to Sylveon, using Water Pulse before jumping away again. Sylveon shook off the attack, and Froakie started heading towards Sylveon head first. Sylveon smiled at Froakie before winking, and using attract. Bright pink hearts swirled around Froakie, causing it to act all dizzy. Sylveon finished with Draining Kiss, draining all of Froakie's energy.
"Wasn't that interesting?" Cayla smiled sweetly at her Pokemon.
"Vee Eevee!" Dawn wagged.
The group started following Penelope, since Ash had to with her, and everyone tagged along.
"So Cayla, since you had Dawn watch Sylveon, does that mean you're going to try for a Sylveon?" Clemont asked, grabbing her attention, as they walked. He glanced at the Eevee in her arms.
"What do you mean Clemont?" Serena asked. "Don't all Eevee evolve into Sylveon?"
Cayla shook her head. "Eevee, depending on how they are raised, can evolve into one of eight possibilities." She informed, taking out her Poke-Dex. "There's Flareon, the Flame Pokemon, Vaporeon, the Bubble Jet Pokemon, and Jolteon, the Lightning Pokemon. These three can be evolved using either a Fire Stone, Water Stone, or a Thunder Stone. I also have a Vaporeon at home actually." She showed her some pictures. "And then there are Espeon, the sun Pokemon, and Umbreon, Moonlight Pokemon. They evolve depending on the skill of their trainer, and if they have a good amount of friendship with their trainer. There are also Glaceon, the Fresh Snow Pokemon, who evolves near a Icy Rock, and Leafeon, the Verdant Pokemon, who evolves near a Mossy Rock. And finally there is Sylveon, the Intertwining Pokemon, who evolves with enough affection from it's trainer." Cayla showed her the pictures.
"That's amazing!" Serena murmured. "I want an Eevee!"
"So what are you going to have Dawn evolve into?" Bonnie asked, eyes sparkling.
Cayla sighed. "I don't know, in the end, it's up to Dawn. She may want to evolve into a Glaceon, or maybe even an Umbreon, or she might not even want to evolve, and I'm okay with that. What matters to me, is that she's happy, and healthy, rather she evolves or not. Right Dawn?"
"Vee..." Dawn stared up at the dark haired girl, before smiling and nuzzling against her cheeks. Dawn had small tears in her eyes. "Eevee! Eevee!" 'Thank You! Thank You!'
"You're welcome?" Cayla smiled, confused on why she was being thanked.

"Hey Serena." Cayla smiled as she walked up to the honey haired girl. "Can we talk?" She asked hopefully.
"Uh, sure!" Serena's voice was overly sweet, dripping with forced politeness. She lead Cayla away from the rest of the group, heading towards the back of the school for a private conversation. "So, what is it?" She asked, crossing her arms. Her sickly sweet tone was replace with nothing but dislike.
Cayla flinched in surprise. Her pale arms snaked around her midsection, hoping to give herself some comfort. "Its just, you don't seem like you like me very much, and if you really don't thats okay! But uh...I was just hoping that it wasn't something I did. If I did something that upset you, please tell me. I just really hope we can be friends!" She smiled hopefully.
Serena sneered. "You're right, I don't like you! Listen, I'm only traveling for Ash, I really like Ash, but you just have to friends with him! You need to leave him alone, because then, he'll finally realize that he likes me! Stay away, and we won't have a problem!" She sneered, violent poking Cayla's upper chest. She finally pulled away when Cayla nodded shakily. "Oh, and do you really think everyone appreciates that happy, always smiling personality of yours? We don't!" She spat, turning to walk away.
"You're wrong Serena, a smile...a smile can do wonders!" Cayla pushed a bright smile onto her features, flinching at Serena's glare. Serena stalked off, leaving Cayla alone. Cayla swallowed, pushing back the panic that was trying to work its way up. She sighed softly, holding a hand to her chest to calm down. "That could have gone better..." She admitted.
