Chapter 32: Tantrums, and Evolution!

(Episode 64 of Pokemon XY)

Cayla seemed to be in far to good of a mood. While Ash, Bonnie, and Serena waited for Serena's Pokemon to heal up, the dark haired girl waited outside. She was smiling, and humming, drawing the attention of a few onlookers. "Today. Is. The. Day!" She declared to no one.

"Cayla, why is today the day?" Bonnie's voice startled her, causing Cayla to squeak and whip around, her face bright red.

"I'm going to try to mega evolve with Ro today. He got use to his body, and is moving will well so we decided we'd try." She clarified before turning to Serena. "We'll stay on that side so you have time to practice." She smiled, too cheery to care about any half hearted smile she received.

"Ro! Lets start the Show!" Cayla hummed, throwing her Poke-Ball into the air.

"Gallade!" Ro grunted, landing before Cayla with stylish ease.

"Seems like you're both fired up." Ash chuckled.

"Pikachu!" 'Good luck!' Pikachu cooed.

"Thanks Pikachu!" Cayla giggled and lead Ro away from Serena's work space. "Lets see, I say we just give it a try. Yeah?"

"Gallade. Gallade Gall Gallade." 'Okay. But what if I loose control?' Ro asked, red eyes reflecting his nervousness.

Cayla smiled softly. "You won't. But if you do, we'll get through it together."

"Gallade!" 'Alright!' He nodded.

Cayla stepped back a few steps, but made sure to face Ro the entire time. "Ready?" With a calm nod from her partner, Cayla closed her eyes and grabbed her keystone with both hands.

She could feel it. She could feel Ro's heart beat, his emotion, his power. He had full trust in her, and she had full trust in him. She felt his power brush up against, and smiled softly.

"Ro, can you feel it?" She asked. Without opening her eyes, she knew he nodded. "Me too." Light blue strands started fluttering out from the trainer's chest. Across the way a brilliant green slunk out of of Ro. "Mega Evolve!" She said, and the strands connected, turning into a beautiful teal before Ro started to glow.

The shape of a cape blossomed from Ro's back shoulders. His arm blades became larger, and sharper, as did the crest on his head. The flash faded, with Ro standing in the same place, but his form altered. Ro looked down at himself, tilting his head back and forth in thought.

"Wow! You look so cool!" Cayla chuckled, walking closer to take a better look. "Next time lets try it in battle, yeah?" She asked.

"Gallade." 'Alright.' Ro nodded before flashing white and changing back into his normal form. He staggered slightly, but found Cayla's shoulder.

"That must have taken more power then we thought. Lets take a break." Cayla soothed, helping him over to the benches where Ash and Bonnie sat. Once he was sat down she grabbed a oran berry PokePuff she made and offered it to him, giggling when he ate it as fast as he could.

She turned her attention on Serena. Pancham and Fennekin started out by jumping before doing a small flip and landing on one paw. From there the three of them fell into a cute, and fun looking dance. Both Pokemon jumped on top of Serena's shoulders, and then leapt into the air, controlling their moves to make purple and orange dust. Fenniken then made a ring of fire when she landed, that Pancham jumped through. But the ring was too small, catching Pancham's tail on fire.

Pancham ran around in pain before putting the flame out on the ground. He sighed in relief but turned to glare at Fennekin. He stood up and got in the Fire Type's face, yelling. Fennekin yelled back, starting a argument until Serena broke it up. The second time around Pancham made it through the ring, but landed wrong, resulting in landing right on Fennekin, which of course started another argument. Pancham jumped onto Serena's shoulder, taunting Fennekin. Ash Bonnie, and Cayla quickly jumped in between them, trying to break them up. The last straw came with Pancham sticking his tongue out at Fennekin. Angry, Fennekin launched a Flamethrower. Pancham dodged, but Serena wasn't so lucky.
