(Episode 58 of XY)
Cayla woke up early. As it was a few days to the Coumarine, but Ash had his Gym battle. It was still early enough for it to still be dark, but she didn't mind. She tied up her long hair, stretching her arms out to move some kinks out of her joints. "Are we ready?" She asked her Pokemon, watching Ro do one more stretch.
"Kirli!" 'Ready!' Ro smiled, nodding enthusiastically.
"Vee!" 'Me too!' Dawn purred, bouncing in place.
"Alright then, lets go on a jog!" She smiled at them before taking off down the road. Ro and Dawn ran after her, the trio jogging down the cool morning streets. A few early risers of the city waved as she passed, getting a returned, shy wave.
Cayla lead the way down a forest path, enjoying the fresh, mossy smell as they ran through the path. Lost in thought, Cayla didn't notice the sun rise, or her need of water until a blue glow wrapped around her and caused her to halt. Blinking in surprise, she looked around, grey eyes falling on Ro, who had stopped with Dawn a few feet away, panting.
"Oh, Sorry. Here." She panted, jogging towards them with a water bottle, and bowl for Dawn. She poured some water in the bowl, and sat down, handing the water bottle to Ro. "I guess I just got lost in running." She admitted shyly, relaxing her soulders.
"Eevee Vee!" 'I forgive you!' Dawn cooed, rubbing against Cayla's side before lapping up some more water.
"Kirlia Lia Kirlia Ria Kir Li." 'It's fine, but we can't over work ourselves.' Ro stated matter o factly. "Kirli Kirlia Kir Lia." 'We have to get going soon anyway.'
"You're right.-" Cayla halted standing up, looking towards the forest. Something made her stop, it sounded like there was something or someone yelling for help. Cayla finished standing up, and darted into the forest, confident that her Pokemon were behind her as she made her way through the twisting terrain. "Ro, tell me when to jump yeah?" She asked., looking at the larger roots in front of her.
"Kirlia!" 'Now!'
Cayla jumped over the protruding root, landing with ease on the mossy ground.
"Kirlia!" 'Now!'
Again she jumped, skidding over the root and down a small hill.
"Kirlia!" 'Now!'
Again she jumped, though over a rock, landing on the other side where she stopped and look at the deep hill in front of her. Ro landed beside her after a few seconds, followed by Dawn. Metal toned eyes widened, and a hand cupped Cayla's mouth. At the bottom of the hill was a Skiddo, it's front left leg bent oddly. "We have to help it." She stated seriously, sitting down to slide down the hill.
(Meanwhile with the others)
"Where's Cayla?" Ash asked as they got ready to leave to the gym.
"I don't know, she was gone before we woke up, but her bag is right here." Bonnie frowned, holding up the pastel backpack.
"She's probably still running, she'll probably meet us at the gym." Serena said sweetly. "Come on, lets get going!"
"I guess, but I still have a bad feeling." Ash sighed, running a hand through his hair as he followed behind the others.
Cayla slid down the hill, catching dawn before she could fall onto the injured Pokemon. Skiddo was awake, but it's face was drawn in a scared, and weary frown. "Ddo!" It yowled, bucking it's horns towards her.
"It's okay." Cayla whispered, slowly reaching her hand out, hand low as not to scare it. "We aren't going to hurt you, okay." Her voice was low, and melodic as she reached forwards, waiting for Skiddo to meet half way.
