Chapter 31: Electrifying Adventures!

(Episode 62 of XY)

The group trekked through the badlands on the way to Lumiose City, with Clemont having Luxio out of it's PokeBall. Cayla was happy with it, finding herself mindlessly petting its fur as they walked. Serena stated that they weren't very far from Lumiose City, much to Clemont's relief as he panted and apologized for the hold up.

"Don't worry about it Clemont." Ash mused. "Hey Cayla, is there a reason you've been keeping step? Usually you're up here."

Pale skin flushed in embarrassment as Cayla untangled her hand from Luxio's mane. "Sorry." She stammered.

"It isn't a problem." Clemont said, seeming to snap out of his thoughts. "Its just that you seem to gravitate towards Luxio, and sometimes you space out around them."

"I didn't mean too its just," Cayla sighed, looking at the electric type. "I'm from Sinnoh remember? And Shinx, Luxio, and Luxray are common Pokemon there, its hard to walk the streets without seeing one. I've been feeling homesick and being around Luxio just helps a bit." She sighed, unconsciously reaching out again. "And yes Ro is a Sinnoh Pokemon, but they are a bit rare so it's a bit different."

"I know what you mean." Ash piped up, scratching under Pikachu's chin. "Sometimes when I see a Squirtle, or Charizard I start missing home."

"Pikachu." 'Me too.' Pikachu purred, rubbing against his hand.

"I know what you mean! I miss home a whole lot, even when we're so close to it." Bonnie chimed, and Serena just nodded along.

"We get a little homesick."Clemont chimed it. "When I see Luxio I remember home too, so don't worry about being around Luxio if it makes you feel better."

"Lux." Luxio agreed, butting against her hand.

A fuzzy feeling made Cayla smile. "Thank you." Cayla zoned into the fuzzy feeling as she helped set up for lunch. In her past travels she had always been alone, save for her Pokemon, and while she loved and adored her Pokemon, it was still a little different since they stayed in their PokeBalls, and it was comforting to have other people to talk to.

Lunch went over a bit, smokey. Clemont was a bit out of it and burnt the food, and while they tried to comfort him, he wasn't budging. Cayla wanted to push, but also didn't want to step over the line and pry. So she bit her tongue and shared worried glances with Ash as they walked.

"Hey, whats that?" Ash asked, pointing to a building.

"Thats the Lumiose Power Plant." Clemont educated, followed by Bonnie's boasting on Clemonts involvement. After Clemont explained his involvement they headed towards the power plant, with Pikachu leading the way.

Pikachu's cheeks sparked wildly, causing Pikachu to shake his head.

"Whats wrong Pikachu?" Ash asked, stopping to check on his Pokemon.

Luxio growled, clawing at the sparks started discharging from it as well. Dedenne pulled out of Bonnie's bag stumbling towards the electric types. A pop sounded, and Ro came to stand beside Cayla, red eyes glaring at the electric types. All three electric Pokemon shook their head a final time before they snapped up, eyes glossed over in a red glow. In a zombie like way, they started walking towards the Power Plant.

"Pikachu!"

"Luxio!"

"Dedenne!"

All three Pokemon turned around, but rather than running back to their trainers, electricity shot from them. "Ro, Protect!" Cayla squeaked pulling Bonnie behind her. Ro jumped in front of the group, surrounding them in the green protective shield. Deeming their work done, the Electric types turned, sprinting away again.
