Cayla hummed, running a brush through Dawn's silver fur. Ro rested against her shoulder, dozing to the sound of Ash and Froakie in the background. Cayla smiled as she listened to them. Ro's eye peeked open, staring at a tree.
"They've been there for a while, I doubt they're a threat." Cayla soothed, scratching under Dawn's chin. Ro nodded, closing his eye again. "In fact, I think they will make their presence known in three, two, one." As the words left her lips, Froakie fired frubbles at a tree, causing a ninja dressed male to step out of his tree disguise.
She was vaguely aware of what was happening, too distracted with cleaning her Poke-Balls, organizing her bag, and and washing her Pokemon up. She did offer a soft, polite greeting to Sanpei, and his Frogadrer. "Hello, nice to meet you." She smiled politely.
"Kirlia." 'Hello.' Ro grumbled, laying his head in Cayla's lap.
"V-Vee..." 'H-Hello...' Dawn whimpered shyly, ears drooping.
"Cayla, Sanpei and Frogadeir are going to help us, want to come too?" Ash asked, his brown eyes gleaming.
The silver eyed girl opened her mouth to respond, her eyes catching Serena's glare. "U-Uh I think I'll stay to the side with my Pokemon, I still have some cleaning to do." She said, and it wasn't a lie, she still had a lot of cleaning to do.
Cayla spent the day cleaning her things, watching Ro and Dawn collect flowers, and setting up lunch. For the most part Clemont cooked, but seeing as he was busy watching, she took the reins. She pulled on a frilly orange apron with a Chimchar on the pocket, and tied her long black hair up out of the way. She started by boiling water, and cutting home made pasta. While the noodles cooked she chopped garlic, and tomatoes. She blended the tomatoes in with the garlic, basil, salt, pepper, and a handful of other spices. Letting that simmer, she rolled together vegetarian meatballs before cooking them and mixing them in with the sauce. If she knew Serena, she probably made desert, most likely Macrons again, so Cayla didn't make any. She strained the water from the noodles, smiling as Ro set the table, and Dawn got a nice picnic blanket ready.
"Hey guys, I made some yummy poffins for after lunch." Cayla smiled, watching her Pokemon's faces blossom in awe. "Come eat everyone!" She yelled to the others.
After lunch Cayla found herself laying with the others, wedged between Bonnie and Clemont. Sanpei and Ash were talking about their dreams, and how hard they were working towards them. Cayla couldn't help but smile at that.
"It's amazing." She sighed softly. "There are millions of people and Pokemon in the world, all with their own hopes and dreams, and we're all working towards them in our own way. Its amazing. It gives me hope that even on cloudy days, nothing's impossible." Her features were soft, grey eyes staring up at the bright blue sky, like she was looking at something completely different than the rest of them.
"I couldn't agree more!" Ash grinned at her, sitting up. Cayla felt her face heat slightly before she looked away.
Cayla sat with Bonnie, cooing at how cute the little girl was dressed like a ninja with Dedenne and Pikachu. Dawn was sitting not far away, watching Froakie and Frogatier from afar. Ro stood beside Cayla, handing her flowers as she made a flower crown for him.
A large crash sounded from ahead, causing Cayla to jump up. A large ninja suited robot Meowth sprung from the ground, extending it's arm towards the water starter Pokemon.(See episode 17? of XY)Team Rocket fired gold colored plates, but Frogatier and Froakie dodged. Froakie fell behind, and Frogateir jumped up, kicking the robot. The robot staggered, but regained balance, and shot out a net. Dawn yowled as she was caught in the net with Frogateir.
Cayla gasped, running towards the net, Ro right beside her. Pikachu jumped, about to use Iron Tail, but was also caught. "Ro use your Magical Leaf to cut the Net. Ash, distract them!" Cayla ordered, molten eyes on the net.
"You got it!" Ash nodded. "Froakie use Quick Attack!" Froakie took off running, but their Quick Attack turned into a Double Team.
While Froakie had Team Rocket's attention, Ro spun, causing glowing sharp leaves to slash the ropes. The rope cut after a few hits. Dawn and Pikachu started to flail mid air while Frogadier landed. "I got you!" Cayla yelled, running and jumping. She grabbed both Pikachu and Dawn, hugging them tightly. She landed on the ground, rolling to the side. "You guys okay?" She asked, looking over both Pokemon.
"Eevee! Vee Ee?" 'Yes! Are you?' Dawn sniffed her questionably.
"Pika Pi Pikachu." Pikachu nodded softly.
"I'm so glad." Cayla sighed, standing up. "Lets pay them back for my headache yeah?" She joked, winking at them. "Dawn use Shadow Ball, Ro Hidden Power, and Pikachu would you mind lending me a Thunder Bolt?"
"Pikachu!" Pikachu nodded.
"Vee!"
"Kirli!"
"PikaCHU!"
Shadow Ball, Hidden Power, and Thunder Bold spiraled together, joining the double Water Pulse from Froakie and Frogadier. Team Rocket screamed as they blasted off once again.
"Kirlia." 'Good riddens.' Ro rolled his sharp eyes, making Cayla giggle, and in turn Dawn and Pikachu joined in laughing.
As Cayla laughed she was ignorant of three sets of eyes on her. A blue pair burning with anger, deep brown pair glossing over with awe, and sunset yellow pair staring with unadulterated interest.
(If you saw on my activity I'm going to start moving in about a month, but don't worry. I stayed up really late for three nights and wrote a bunch of chapters so you'll get regular updates)
