Death and Deception'So we have news.'
Watson entered the room with a smile, followed by Tucker. Olivia stood next to James, Eli and Tasha; everyone was giddy with excitement even if it was well into seven in the evening. Watson had called in earlier, informing everyone that Mrs. Shaw had spoken to them after being in shock for so long.
Finally they had solid evidence to start with.
'Mrs. Shaw told us that her husband understood that they were hit men hired to kill him. Said even went as far as to ask who it was.' Tucker said with his brows furrowed as always.
'Who was it?' Tasha asked, barely containing her excitement.
'Well, that's the odd part.' Watson said, 'She said the burly man who killed him told him it was "the blood of two rivals from chaos" and Shaw recognized who it was.'
'Sounds like a code to me.' James said and Watson nodded with a frown.
'Seems so.'
'"The blood of two rivals from chaos?"' Olivia asked bewildered. 'Could it be a gang rivalry? I mean such codes usually comes from a gang brotherhood or something like that.'
'I agree.' Watson jumped in, 'We found Shaw with a packet of cocaine. It is possible that he might have crossed his dealers the wrong way and they decided to take him out.'
Tucker nodded thoughtfully.
'Then we have to find where Shaw got his regulars from.'
'But that still doesn't explain what the Konstantinos had to do in this?'
Tasha asked from the sidelines and Olivia stiffened up. The conversation that she had so gracefully overheard and got caught on, played in her mind like a broken record. Perhaps it was for the better that she kept quiet about what she heard until she had undeniable evidence.
'...The very death we handle...'
'Keres Konstantinos said Shaw sold him information.' Tucker mused, 'Could it be the info on his suppliers?'
'That does supply for a good motive behind the murder.'
Everyone silently contemplated the situation before dispersing to work on finding Shaw's supplier and his ties. Olivia wondered about the supposed murderer who escaped jail who the Konstantinos brothers called Typhon. Her eyes darted over to James who was searching databases.
'James?'
'Yeah?' He replied without taking his eyes off of the glowing screen.
'Could you find someone in the database for me? I got only one half of the name, I am not sure if it is the first name or the last.'
James slowly turned to face Olivia and the rustle of papers behind her ceased to stop, indicating that Tasha was listening in to what she had to say.
'When did Olivia Summers start using databases to find dirt on her dates?' James asked with a chuckle.
'It's not that... I met someone who...w-who had an ex-boyfriend? Yeah, ex-boyfriend. He was in jail and he is dangerous? So I... ' She shrugged nervously, hoping that James would buy her lies, 'I thought it was a good idea to check if he is on bail or anything. Yeah.'
She felt horrible for lying but she can't risk telling it all to James. What if Shaw was murdered for knowing that piece of name? What if the Konstantinos brothers were the killers and they just figured out that she had listened to what she said? And they come to know that she shared that piece of information to James?
The risks were too high.
'Okay...' James drawled and turned to the glowing screen to press a few keys. 'The name?'
'Um, Typhon.'
There was a few taps and Olivia waited nervously as the computer loaded the results. Finally it produced an output.
'Nothing?'
Olivia asked, bewildered. The search was completely clean and the databases would also show Interpol fugitives as well. It meant there was no one named Typhon running loose.
Who were they referring to? Did I hear them wrong?
'I have a few on-the-runs with similar names though.' James said with a frown, 'Tyler, Tyson, Tynin... wait a second...'
James suddenly leaned closer and Olivia inched closer to the screen to watch what he was doing. There was a wiki link given below on the database that matches the results to the mainstream internet search engines. On James' command, the system produced a page in which the name Typhon was written in bold headlines.
'A fictional monster in Greek mythology?' James burst out into a full-fledged laughter at Olivia's confused expression.
'Wait, what?' Tasha crowded in to see what the commotion was about, 'Your friend's ex is this trippy snake?'
Olivia was beyond confused at the results. She continued to stare at an artistic representation of the serpentine monster in thought.
Was it a code like Shaw's murder's words?
She never truly knew.
But she was sure of one thing; Keres Konstantinos was bad news.
