In Another Lifetime'What do mean "my children" are here to see me?!' Olivia asked wide-eyed at Praxidike who smiled sheepishly.
'I had been dying to tell them that they've found you and they are so ecstatic! They are waiting for you in the patio.' She nodded encouragingly with a wide, toothy smile. 'You were gone for over fifty years!'
'But I don't know them, Praxidike!' Olivia growled, throwing her hands everywhere. 'Don't you remember how you felt when I couldn't recognize you? I don't want to do that to anyone else ever again and so, I am not meeting anyone until I get back Themis' memories!' Olivia was nervously pacing her room.
'I know they are my children and accept me and all that. But I can't! What if I mess up?'
Olivia stopped and tugged her white track jacket self-consciously. Olivia hadn't thought of this situation happening, ever! And the tension was getting to her.
'Don't the children of Gods not care for their parents emotionally? That is what Keres told me.' Olivia chewed her lips as she looked at Praxidike who was leaning on the dresser. She shrugged.
'Lord Keres is a prince of Dark Clan. I wouldn't be surprised if he told you that. His family is a little different from ours... eh, they are a little too distant. But he has a point, many of the times familial relations are disregarded for more advantages in power.'
'So I don't have to go?' Olivia raised her eyebrows in hope.
'Yes you have to. You were a wonderful mother and mentor.' Praxidike smiled wide making Olivia groan.
'Of course, I would make the best mom ever.'
'Come on, now. They are waiting.'
Grudgingly, Olivia changed out of her baggy sweatpants and pulled on a pair of light yoga pants, deciding against changing her track jacket. She then pulled her hair up in a high pony and applied a little mascara and lip gloss before moving around in search of her white Vans.
Olivia had never dreamt of ever being in a pickle like this one. It sounded ridiculous that she was about to meet her actual children whom she had given birth hundreds of years ago. She was a little excited to meet them but a whole lot scared. The last time they met her, she was a powerful Titaness who was a picture of grace and intelligence and respected by all Gods. Now she was just an average New Yorker.
Oh, the cruel twist of fate.
Olivia pulled on her Vans and grabbed her phone from the nightstand.
'Are you coming with me, Mr. Fluffington?'
She asked her cat who looked at her as if to say: 'what do you think, you stupid human? Of course you need me for moral support!' Olivia picked up her cat with a sigh and he snuggled into her arms, the bells of his collar ringing in the room. Olivia took a deep calming breath.
