Weight of Worth'What?'
Olivia felt numb and disoriented as though she was punched on her face. Surely, he hadn't said that she was this powerful being who could orchestrate a war between Gods and win? She blinked confusedly at Keres who was nursing his glass of alcohol with no concern nor care.
'What did you just say?'
'You heard me just as fine the first time, darling.' He rose to his full height and kept his glass away to face her. His eyes shone in the dim lighting. 'You are the mortal reincarnation of the Titaness of Law and Justice. You are that one human who keep collecting the essence from the cosmos. You are Themis.'
Keres said no more but his eyes told her that he meant what he told. The next emotion took no time to grip Olivia's psyche; she burst out laughing. She clutched her stomach and bent over laughing as she shook her head.
'You are...' Olivia's laughter receded into chuckles. 'Wow, didn't see that one coming! You really know how to build it up, don't you?'
Keres never replied to her but chose to continue to bore his machalite eyes on her frame. He moved away from the marble countertop; his lithe steps in her direction. Olivia nervously shifted in her seat.
'Do you have a ride home, Olivia?'
Olivia felt as if someone just pulled a rug from underneath her. Obviously, she was surprised at the sudden conclusion he was bringing about to their meeting but something surprised her far greater. He had never called her by her name other than that night she was nearly dying of suffocation. It felt quite personal to listen to her name rolling out of his tongue; it felt different in a good way.
'I, um... no. I don't.'
Keres nodded, his hands buried in the pocket of his slacks.
'Well, if you don't mind, I can drop you off to your residence.'
'Thank you...'
She watched confusedly as he turned about with a curt nod, his pace towards the door. He opened the door with a click and held it open for her to pass. Olivia nervously wringed her fingers as she walked through the door Keres stood holding back.
Olivia was back at the silken hallway.
She walked slowly behind Keres' broad frame, her hands unknowingly touching the glossy black marble and watching her bewildered eyes through her reflection. She didn't understand how to process what she just heard. She was not sure if Keres was joking with her or not; but his clear eyes told her that he meant every word he said.
But on the other hand, she knew there was no chance she was this lost Goddess he was talking about. It made no sense. She was the furthest away from a Celestial grace and she couldn't be any different in a few minutes.
