By The Bull's HornsOlivia tip-toed out of her room with her cat comfortably resting inside the backpack she wore, peeking curiously and occationally resting his big head on her shoulders.
'Okay, Mr. Fluffington.' Olivia whispered. 'We gotta make it out without a sound, got it?'
Mr. Fluffington didn't reply any concurrence or denial to her idea, or maybe because he didn't care. Whatever the case was, Olivia nodded to herself and stepped out into the twilight of the Keres' mansion. Her blue sneakers were silent on the carpet as she made her way towards the entrance of the mansion in tip-toe.
'If that was an attempt to sneak out, you're going to have to do better.'
Olivia cringed before schooling her face neutral to turn around and face Anaplekte. She straightened when she met the beady eyes of the death-fate, ignoring the hateful hiss that Mr. Fluffington directed in Anaplekte's direction.
'I am not sneaking out.' Olivia replied back with false confidence. 'I am going out. I am a 26 year old adult, you know.'
'In our world those years amount to nothing.' Anaplekte remarked steely and looked down at Olivia's sweater paws with her black hoodie. 'You are just a child to the ways of this world.'
'Okay.' Olivia huffed, 'This was a nice chat but I've got places to be.'
'Go ahead. No one is stopping you but yourself.'
Olivia frowned in confusion and examined the death-fate from top to bottom in suspicion.
'Aren't you going to stop me as per your boss' orders?'
'No. He had instructed us to let you go if you need...' Anaplekte's eyes narrowed. 'But not before punishing Nosos for doing the very thing, albeit without permission.'
'Keres punished Nosos?! How?' Olivia exclaimed in surprise, her voice echoing back at her ominously.
'Come on, I shall drop you.'
And with an elegant sweep of her dark robe, Anaplekte glided away towards the doors; not giving Olivia the answer to her question. At that abrupt drop in their conversation, she knew that that was all she would get from her. Fisting her sweater paws tighter Olivia jogged after her, past the mansion doors.
Anaplekte walked up to Stygere's black Hummer and opened the driver's side to hop in. She wordlessly rounded about the monster car and climbed to the passenger side.
'Never thought I'd live to see you chauffeur me around...' Olivia mumbled as she fiddled with the seat belt. 'Do you even have a driver's license?'
'No.' Anaplekte gunned the engine.
'What the---?'
The engine roared as they accelerated and rolled out of the gates that opened automatically. She bit the insides of her cheeks the whole ride, only opening her mouth to give brief instructions to where she wanted to go. For most part Anaplekte drove neatly but that didn't stop Olivia having to imagine a hundred ways her ride could end with her in the morgue.
