Would you hug me tight?
Maybe today or tomorrow
Or every other night of my life
Cos I need to break your fragile bones
Cos they look so good wrapped up in skin
And the body of your mind makes me want to wrap you in my mind
I need to hug my home away from home
Cos without you I don't know where I'd go
Or who'd I'd be now
If you were a tree I'd hug you
Splinters all over me, I wouldn't feel
People would be looking at me like I'm crazy
If you were just you I'd still hug you
Cos you make me think
Of a teddy bear I've had since I was born
And cushions of beet red with happy scribbled across them
And marshmallows in cups of warm
And baby's in little puffer coats
And baby animals smiling at the world
Would you hug me tight?
Maybe today or tomorrow
Or any other night of my life
