AUTHORS NOTE: yes i'm trying to  write this really fast before i forget the storyline 😂 this storyline was thought about a while ago but didn't end up in so i brought it back for this school year. i feel like i wrote Harry really badly like his dialogue but maybe that's just every chapter and i just noticed it here 😂 new character and a mention of next chapter's other character too also i feel like this chapter is sadder than others but i may be completely wrong on that

"JAMES! LILY! OVER HERE!"

The two siblings slipped into a compartment with a gang of 7th year Gryffindors.

"We knew you two were coming so we tried to find a private compartment before the school starts hounding you for pictures. The fifth years are very annoying this year. No offense Lily, everyone likes you."

"None taken, I'm actually third year."

"Anyway, have you seen the papers much over the summer?"

"We don't get it anymore, Dad has someone to update him on the news concerning him and us but we never hear it and it only filters through to Dad if it's important enough."

"You were in it a lot this summer. I read about the attack in Diagon Alley and the court case... Professor Creevey was horrible about you."

"Anyway how was your summer James? We travelled around Hungary for a while, you know my parents like dragons, the bigger the better, but then the rest of the summer we went to America," his friend babbled on about traveling, what lots of his class at Hogwarts' summers were like.

"We stayed in the house all summer. Mum and Dad were too scared for our safety to let us go anywhere after the attack in July. Teddy came home for a few days which was fun, but there was kind of a damper on it when we found out why, he came to see Dad since... he might not be around for much longer.

"I'm so sorry! Why did you come this term then? Surely they'd want you three at home?"

"Don't be sorry, it's not your fault."

"Their plan is to wait for a while and if he gets much worse, to bring us home for a few days, just in case." Lily added with a shrug.

"Anyway," James started, "I'm thinking Quidditch trials day after tomorrow? If they're really interested in being on the team then they'll be waiting. I'll talk to Professor Longbottom, he loves me, if I plan it for a weekday I'm sure he'll let potential Gryffs take the afternoon off to play."

Ginny helped Harry into the house, as soon as they got to the privacy of their own room he collapsed against the nearest wall. There was a letter waiting addressed to the two of them, Ginny was worried as she turned it over to see the Hogwarts seal, surely nothing could have happened to Lily or James or Albus already? She checked her watch with relief, only 12 o clock, they wouldn't even be near school.

"Minerva wants us to meet with her in her office at Hogwarts. She says it's not urgent but to come as soon as we can tomorrow, she'll be there as soon as timetables are given out. Will you be better enough to travel tomorrow?"

"I think so, it's not as bad as it was last night."

Ginny called Kreacher upstairs and gave him a list of potions to fetch for Harry from downstairs and set Kreacher to get him anything he needs while she slept, it had been impossible to sleep last night.

-

Harry and Ginny arrived outside the office at 11 o clock the next morning.

"Its good to see you, please come in, can I get you anything?"
