AUTHORS NOTE: This is the first chapter edited by someone else other than me so thanks loljuliannie on insta for fixing my commas and helping me with a few lines. I tried to keep this a happy chapter but as usual it's not 100% jolly, even at Christmas. A big change is coming in the story next chapter so please keep reading, i promise there's no cliffhangers for the next while 😂. Please leave reviews in the comments, it means so much to read them and really helps me write.

Harry woke up alone on Christmas morning, this was unusual because Ginny was usually the late riser. Seeing the sunlight illuminate the room as it shone through the curtains was odd. The dreamless sleep potion had done its job better than usual, Harry suspected Kreacher or Ginny must've given him a stronger dose since Ginny had been adamant that he'd work out the right nights to take it so he was relaxed for Christmas Day. Just then his wife opened the door a crack, and upon seeing him awake, practically bounced into the room.

"Happy Christmas Harry."

"Merry Christmas," he yawned back at her, the potion took a while to wear off after he awoke.

"I made the kids leave you alone to sleep, everyone's waiting patiently to open their stockings up here."

Harry blearily reached for his glasses. "I thought the Weasleys were arriving this morning."

"I take that back, my brothers were worse than the kids at waiting, eventually I was forced to charm all the presents shut."

Suddenly the entire Weasley family piled into the room with their stockings in hand.

"Finally up then Harry?" Ron questioned.

"You're sleeping like an old man," George added jokingly.

"Merry Christmas Dad!"

"Uncle Harry!"

"NOW can we open stockings?"

"James, you're 17 years old, can you not wait five minutes before asking again... I swear Teddy's baby will mature before you do."

"THANKS MUM!" James replied as he tipped the enormous sock's contents across the floor.

"James what did I just... Oh never mind, at least you waited this long."

Harry sat up and watched his family as they opened their Christmas stockings, it was weird having everyone here so early, their normal tradition was to spend Christmas at the Burrow, either sleeping there on Christmas Eve or meeting everyone late lunchtime on Christmas Day. At least this way they had the whole day to appreciate the holiday and talk to everyone.

"Here... I know you don't like anything too big so there's only a couple of things in the stocking," Ginny whispered to him.

Harry took the large red sock (a tradition that had somehow passed from Muggles to Wizards) and fished his hand to the bottom. He pulled out the chocolate frog in surprise, usually he stayed away from them thanks to his unfortunate habit of getting "The Boy Who Lived" every time, and pulled the box apart. He sighed when he caught sight of the familiar messy hair and round glasses and was ready to roll his eyes at his wife, she knew he was fed up with the cards.

"Read it."

The picture showed James's most recent press photo which insisted on winking and messing up its hair every few seconds.

Harry widened his eyes in disbelief.
