AUTHORS NOTE: i'm so sorry these chapters are getting longer and longer it's just really quick to write a chapter now and i wanna get to a certain part soon 😂 i have a rough guide of how this story is gonna go until nearly the end of it but i have no idea how long it'll take me to get there [editors note to me: it took you until 2020 😂]. anyway i'm bored rn cause we were supposed to go to dublin today but my sister's feeling sick so we can't.

Penny arrived in the Minister of Magic's office in the early afternoon, she couldn't believe it, she was meeting the actual Minister, these past few days had been full of weird turns and she wasn't quite sure what she was here for.

"Ms Haywood?"

"Minister, I'm honored to meet you." She shook Kingsley Shacklebolt's hand trying to act professional but some of her shock still showed through.

"I am aware Minerva McGonagall sent you as she wants you to work for Harry Potter." The Minister showed her to a seat opposite his desk. "I assume you realize why we would want to speak to you, why the Ministry has concerns of the motives of anyone attempting to get close to Harry. It's purely standard procedure but since I have a long standing personal friendship with him I tend to deal with things like this myself rather than handing it over to another department. You were recommended by Minerva, well that will certainly speed things up. You met with Harry yesterday and both he and his wife seemed very pleased with you. Can I ask why exactly you are willing to take this job?"

"I want to help him. I've never known him personally but I fought in the Battle of Hogwarts and some of my friends died there... Harry Potter gave everything for us all and I want to give him the help he needs. His children are some of my students at Hogwarts and I can't stand the thought of them worrying about their dad, they deserve to have him for as long as they can."

"Miss Haywood, would you be willing to make this potion without payment?"

"Yes of course, if someone needs it then they should have it."

"Thank you, I will escort you down to the Auror department for a background check immediately, we like to do everything without warning so any potential Death Eaters sneaking in would have little time to prepare. You will of course still be getting the money, Harry would probably refuse the potion otherwise, but it's good to know you'd be willing to make it with no gain on your behalf."

Ginny watched her husband as he slipped out of consciousness, he had barely been awake for two minutes, he hadn't even been able to take most of the potions, they'd have to try again in a while as she didn't want to wake him up again. She was scared that this would be the last time she would see him, what if he never woke up? She tried to push that thought from her mind but Ginny hoped that her last words to him were enough if they had to be the last. Ginny conjured parchment and a quill and began to write a letter to Teddy, he needed to come home right away to see him, all four of Harry's children should get a chance to say goodbye if it came to that. She thought desperately that this potion needed to work, Harry had to hold on until they got it, there was no other way, this couldn't be a goodbye. She ripped the paper apart, no, a letter was far too slow. She conjured a Patronus with a message that would find Teddy.

Poppy knocked on the door and entered, closing it behind her.

"How is he?"

"Not good, at first the potion seemed to be taking effect but then the pain got worse, he closed his eyes and went so still. I couldn't get him to drink any more, I thought he was going to die..." Ginny fought back the tears, Harry didn't like when people cried, it always made him uncomfortable.

"Why don't you bring your family in here now?"

Ginny nodded and Ron and Hermione entered, closely followed by Al and Lily. Her brother answered Ginny's questioning look, "James is out talking to someone, he's got a nice surprise planned for his dad."
