Adrien angrily swung the door open as Marinette followed behind him. He was grumbling, and she was waiting for him to say actual words. The longer they went without speaking, the more the tension grew in the room.
Marinette walked into the kitchen and made herself a glass of water. Gulping it down, she sat herself down at the chairs before the cold counters. The bluenette had already known that whatever happened tonight that it wouldn't end well.
She was usually quite cheerful after she had alcohol in her system, but she's been told about how rudely and quickly she responded when insulted or angered.
"I can't believe you" Adrien spat finally.
Marinette rolled her eyes, her lips showing no sign of being lifted.
"What, what can't you believe, huh? What did I do wrong this time? Did I step on your toes?" She provoked, spinning around in her seat.
Adrien sneered, facing her. He couldn't believe her! Anger pulsed through him, powering his every motive. Taking a deep breath, he tried to stabilize his feelings. He couldn't afford to be akumatized now.
"I don't know Marinette, let's backtrack, shall we? A little trip down Memory Lane?"
"Don't treat me like a child" Marinette warned, pressing her hand against the counter and standing.
"Maybe if you didn't act like one, I wouldn't have to treat you as one" Adrien scowled at her, scrunching up his nose.
Marinette was a lot of things, but dumb wasn't one of them. Adrien was well aware of the fact, and it only threw salt into the wound. The fashion designer knew what she had been doing when she went out.
But of all people, it had to be Luka. Adrien didn't hate Luka, in fact, the blonde found Luka to be a great guy. Any girl that hooks up with him would be lucky. Especially considering how he turns down many of them who beg to be his girlfriend.
Adrien saw how Luka looked at Marinette. The very same way Nino looked at Alya when she wasn't looking. The model knew he and Mari haven't looked at each other like that in a while. Their kisses have become forced and her smile never reached her eyes.
Despite all of that, he already knew how the argument would end. She would forgive him, he would forgive her, then life would move on as nothing happened. Even if something had changed in her eyes, he didn't think the outcome would be changed.
"Listen here, Adrien, I didn't do anything wrong. I went out with friends to relax. When's the last time we did that? Oh yeah, months. Why? Do you just not like me anymore?" She questioned, waving her arms around.
Her flow of questions didn't stop, causing Adrien to yell "Stop!"
Marinette blinked at him, surprise in her slightly wide bluebell eyes. Hurt flashed across her eyes before it was placed with an icy cold exterior.
"Then tell me, Adrien. Tell me whatever thoughts are happening in your foolish brain." The bluenette demanded.
Adrien stalked into the living room, and Marinette followed him angrily. The blonde paced the carpeted floor as the fashion designer crossed her arms tightly over her chest. He ran his hands through his blonde locks, then stopping to pull the hair at the nape of his neck.
"You where dancing with him" Adrien mumbled finally.
Marinette raised one eyebrow, not moving from her spot.
"What was that?" She questioned, poison dripping into her every word.
"You were dancing with him Marinette!" He burst. The blonde pivoted on his heel and jabbed his finger in her direction accusingly. "You where out having "fun" with your "friends". I didn't know that Luka was suddenly such a big part of your life. He comes back once in what, four years? And you were already all over him" Adrien shook his head in disgust.
