“You’re truly something amazing.” Luka laughed as he watched Marinette’s face. The sunset reflected in her eyes as she gazed at it.
“You are too.” She laughed while a light blush dusted her cheeks. “Finding such an amazing place. It’s weird to say, but I’ve never found nature more beautiful than now.”
Fields of gold swayed in the pleasantly warm breeze. Leaves rustled from the tree above them and a few crickets began to chirp.
Luka rolled over so that he was hovering over her warm body. He shifted his weight to one warm as he played with the stray strands of bluenette hair. She didn’t feel fearful of what he would do next, she felt safe. Like she always belonged here in his arms, gazing at his eyes.
“My dear Marinette.” He smiled and lowered his face to hers. Their foreheads were pressed together and their lips were millimeters apart. “I would be honored if you would allow me a kiss.”
Marinette dragged her hands up his back and her fingers locked behind his neck. She tilted her head up slightly and their lips pressed together. This was everything that she had dreamed about since she was a little girl. This was the phenomenal kiss that fairytales spoke about. She never knew how wonderfully chapped lips would feel against her own.
He pulled back for air and looked down at her lovingly. She loosed her hands from his neck and dragged them into his messy hair.
“I’ve never felt so strongly about someone as I have you, Ladybird.”
Marinette froze as Luka traced a hand over her cheeks.
“I’m sorry?” She sat up and scooted back. “What did you say?”
“Ladybird.” He titled his head in confusion. “What’s wrong?”
“That’s what you call Ladybug.” It had to have been a mistake on his part, right? When Adrien had called her Ladybug she knew why. He truly only loved the hero side of her.
“You’re right, it is.” He chuckled. “You found it endearing when I accidentally called you that the first time. Remember? You were so concerned and being an amazing friend as you searched for Chat Noir.”
Marinette's gut twisted. He knew her identity? How could he have found out that she was Ladybug? No no no no no no no no no no. This couldn’t be happening.
“But how?” She whispered. He sat up on his knees.
“While defeating Hawkmoth you detransformed. All of Paris was watching. Master Fu relieved you of your duty of having such important responsibilities.”
Marinette’s hands flew to her ears. She didn’t feel the round earrings she’s been wearing since she was fifteen.
“Tikki?” She panicked and launched over to her purse. The little red kwami was not in there.
Luka came up behind her and wrapped his arms around her. “It’s okay Ladybird. We have each other now.”

Marinette’s eyes snapped open. The vision of a gold field faded away as she blinked back into reality. She didn’t recognize the room at first and she panicked. What happened? She tried to remember what happened the night before, but she couldn’t.
“Marinette, what’s wrong?” The bluenette stopped as she heard the concerned voice. Tikki was holding a half-eaten cookie as she looked at her holder in concern.
