- Cancer -
It's been a week since Pisces and Capricorn's wedding. Taurus has been acting all strange, but then again, when does he ever act normal?
We started dating two years ago, and we moved in together a month after Cap proposed to Pisces. It has been great, but ever since the night of their wedding, he's been acting all weird.
I've been ignoring it for the most part. He started working at his dad's farmer's market, but he's been working pretty late. We need all the help we can get, after all. Because of that, it seems like we never get to talk or have time together, and when we do, he's all tense.
Its been lonely at home without him, so I'm working on getting a job. I've always had a dream of becoming a lawyer. It isn't too late to apply, it's only October.
I sit up and start looking for law schools. I already went to college. This could be my next step.
The door clicks, bringing me out of my thoughts. I turn to see Taurus, "Hey, you're home a few hours early!" I say, smiling.
"Yeah. We need to talk." his voice is stern and low, and he doesn't break eye contact. My heart sinks to my stomach, and my smile fades.
"Don't tell me this is what I think it is,"
"What do you think it is?"
"Are you breaking up with me?"
"No, of course not. I love you,"
"Oh, thank God. Okay, I love you too. What's going on?"
He sits next to me on the couch, holding my hand. "I talked to my dad earlier and he told me something. Down my father's line, there's a disease that makes the men infertile. There hasn't been one man in my family that hasn't been diagnosed with it. Which means..."
"Oh," I whisper.
"I talked to my doctor today, left work early in order to talk to him. I took a test, and I'm still good. But I have a year, so... I want to have kids with you,"
"Oh..." I become quiet, looking down at my lap. He tightens his grip on my hand.
"Cancer, you want to have kids, right?" He asks.
"I do, but we're not even married, and I actually started thinking... I want to go to law school."
His face drops. "Oh." He says. I can see the heartbreak in his face. He lets go of my hand.
"We can always adopt," I suggest. He shrugs and nods.
"Yeah, I guess. Aries invited me over. I'm gonna go,"
He kisses my forehead lightly and stands.
"Wait, Taurus. I'm sorry. I love you, you know that. And I do want to have kids with you, but I'm just not ready."
"I understand. It's fine. I'm gonna go, okay?"
"I'm sorry.."
"It's fine, it's not a big deal. I love you."
He gives me a smile, but I can tell it's fake. I smile back anyways. He gives a little wave of his hand and turns to walk off.
I hear the door shut behind him.
I slump down on the couch. Here's this man who will do everything for me, but I won't do the only thing he's ever asked me for.
