- Taurus -
It's 6 am when my phone rings. Cancer blinks her eyes open.
"Who's calling?" She asks, her voice dragging.
"It's fine, go back to sleep,"
I get my phone and leave the room.
"Virgo?" I say into the phone. "What's wrong?"
All I hear is her sobbing, nothing else.
"Virgo?" I repeat.
"I... I don't know,"
"You don't know what?"
"I cheated," I hear her inhale sharply.
"On Scorpio?!" I ask, shocked.
"Yes, who else?" She begins sobbing again, her voice nasily.
"Oh," I say quietly.
"Can you please.. Check on him. He won't talk to me, he won't pick up, he's completely off the grid. I still have his location from when we... from when we were together. He's at the Larange hotel."
Her words are almost indistinguishable between her sobs and sniffles.
"Yeah, I'll check on him. Do you want me to send Cancer over?"
"No. Thank you," she says quickly.
"Okay, bye." I hang up and go back to the bedroom.
I gently tap on Cancer's shoulder. When she doesn't wake up, I shake her awake. She opens her eyes. "Hmm.." She mumbles, sleepiness drilled into her tone.
"I'm gonna head over to Scorpio's for a little bit. I might not be here when you wake up, okay?"
She mumbles again with a short nod of her head.
"Okay, I love you," I kiss her head. She half smiles and closes her eyes again.
I get my keys and head over to the hotel. How the hell am I supposed to find him? Go to every door and knock?
I go to the front desk, where a woman is smiling at her phone.
"Hi," I say. She looks up, startled, then sets her phone down and focuses her eyes on me with a polite smile.
"Good morning. How can I help you?"
"I'd like to see what room Scorpio is in, or if a Scorpio has checked in?"
She frowns at me. "I'm sorry, I can't give that information away,"
"I can show you, I have his contact, he's my friend,"
"If he's your friend, then why can't he tell you the room number himself?" She retorts. "I'm sorry, sir, but my job is to book rooms, not to give someone's private information away."
"Look, um," I glance at her name tag. "Gloria, I understand completely. The reason I can't get the room from him is because he's been going through a tough time and he won't pick up his phone. I just want to check on him. Is it so difficult to look at your book and connect a name to a number?"
She gives a deeper frown. "Sir, I understand your concern. However, I can't do that, even if it's easy. How do I know you aren't somebody dangerous? If you would like me to send somebody to check on your friend, I can. Otherwise, if you don't book a room or leave, I'm calling security,"
"Gloria, if you could just hear me out, I-"
"I'm not here to hear your life story. Book a room or leave, sir. I'm not messing around anymore. I will call security, and I won't hesitate," she picks up a phone, her frown turning to a stern line.
"Okay, okay. I'll book a room,"
"Very well, then,"
