Continues from last chapter
"Selena Williams! Will you marry me?" Tyler asked, kneeling on one knee and holding up the ring box, while I just stared at him in nothing but shock.
My breath literally hitched at that moment. My palms immediately started to sweat and my heart beating rate increased within the space of some seconds. I was just frozen to my spot at that moment, I couldn't move, or talk, or do anything in particular, I was just there, just blank!
Yes, I was happy in my relationship with Tyler, he was trying his best to make me the happiest person in the world, and he was well on the way to that. He has been of great help to me at a time I needed the most, and for that, I'd always be grateful to him. I did love Tyler, but I wasn't quite sure if I wanted to take such a huge step! I wasn't fully convinced that the both of us were ready for that! The chemistry between us just wasn't as strong!
"What's my middle name?" I found myself asking, making him furrow his eyebrows out of confusion as he slowly stood up, pulling me closer to him.
"What are you talking about?" He spoke, looking straight into my eyes with nothing but confusion.
"whats my favorite ice cream flavor? When is my birthday? What are my greatest fears? What is my favorite childhood movie? What's my favorite color? What's my favorite food? Which animal have I always wanted to have as a pet?" I kept on asking, while he just stood there looking at me in nothing but confusion and a little bit of anger.
"Why are you asking me all those questions? We're gonna spend the rest of our lives together, we'll both have enough time to learn all these things about each other, what's the big deal?" He asked, keeping the ring box on the table afterwards.
"The big deal is; you know nothing about me or about my life! And you never cared to learn about something regarding that! So How can we spend the rest of our lives together when you don't even know who I am?"
"What are you saying, Selena? Of course I know who you are! I'm willing to take this step because I love you and I want to be with you!" He responded, taking my hands in his as he tried to reason with me. I could tell just by the look on his face that he was starting to get angry, but I honestly couldn't care less at that point, I had to let him know the truth.
"Just answer this question! Why do you want to marry me?" I Asked.
"As I said, Because I love you and I want to be with you!" He replied.
"No! Be specific, Tyler! What is it that you love about me?" I Asked again, and as I expected, he couldn't say a word.
"Do you See what I mean now? You don't have a specific reason for loving me! You think that's not a big deal but it actually is, I can't spend the rest of my life with someone who knows nothing about me! It doesn't even make Any sense!" I said
"What in the world is wrong with you, Selena? Why do you keep trying to confuse me?" He yelled at the top of his lungs, thankfully, the balcony doors were closed, so we didn't have to worry about getting other people's attention.
"I'm not trying to confuse you, I'm just telling you the truth! There's no such thing as marriage between us because we're both clearly not ready for it. You don't know nothing about my personality, or my character, or anything regarding my life in general! So how do you expect me to live my whole entire life with you?!" I yelled right back at him, struggling so hard to hold back my tears.
"You just don't get it, do you?" He snapped at me "I love you, Selena! I love you so fucking much, i can't live without you! That's all that should matter!" He said, forcefully grabbing me by the waist and pulling me closer to him.
