• Kai River Henderson - below shoulder length chocolate brown hair, big brown eyes, leaves her hair naturally wavy and down for the most part, wears dark lipstick sometimes, 5'2, has hips but isn't super curvy nor super skinny; quiet, very nice and easy going, calm, loyal and cautious. Major = Film Studies; Outfit style is shown below:
• Lily Maria Wheeler - long, almost to her butt, strawberry blonde hair, bright gray eyes, naturally big lips, Italian, very pretty with some light freckles on her nose, 5'6, super thin; religious, positive attitude all the time, sweet and naive, excited about the weirdest things, can sometimes be over dramatic. Major = Political Science and Italian Studies; Outfit style shown below:
• Astrid Kaela Ryder - dark skinned with one eye blue and brown mix, the other one brown, curvy, 5'3, super curly brown hair, a nose piercing, and two tattoos, one on her wrist of a heart and one behind her ear of a crescent moon; very blunt, curious, paranoid, and insecure. •|•"That's right, snow bunny," he whispers to her, his lips almost touching hers. She tilts her head to the side, her brown bangs fallings into her eyes. She sends him a curious look.
"Snow bunny?" She questions, smoothing her lips together. He shrugs his shoulders with a smirk.
"Yeah, with your pale skin and dark hair, you remind me of a snow bunny."•|•
"What? What are you gonna make fun of now, Lily? Her boyfriend because he's got a purple birthmark next to his eye? Well, I'm sorry, but not everyone can be perfect," Astrid sends her a dirty look and shakes her head in annoyance. "I mean, come on. You're better than that."
"I wasn't going to say anything rude or make fun of him, I just think that she's too good for him, and that she deserves better," Lily tries to explain, but her voice falls short. She lets out a breath and tilts her chin down, almost making her look helpless. Astrid's eyes widen and she scoffs.
"No," she shakes her head and rolls her eyes. "Okay, no, you don't get to say that. He is not a bad guy. Actually, he's amazing for her. He does everything he can to make her feel good about herself, something that you do not do. And you know what? I agree that she deserves better. She deserves a better friend," Astrid tells her, grabbing her book bag.
"Where are you going?" Lily questions, not understanding why things are going the way they are.
"I'm going to go see how Kai is doing because that's what a good friend would do," Astrid snaps at her. She gets ready to leave when she turns head. "By the way," she begins, her eyes tearing up. "I like girls and boys. So, there's something you can talk shit about behind my back and judge me for when I leave." She slams the door shut, leaving Lily alone in her own thoughts.•|•
• Lily is a freshman, she lives in a dorm on campus with her roommate who she is notoriously known to talking about people to.
• Kai is a freshman who lives in a dorm on campus as well, but her roommate hardly is ever in the room because she's always partying and staying at her friends dorms.
• Astrid is a freshman who does not have a roommate because her roommate last minute dropped out, so she stays in a dorm by herself.•|•
"What do I think about your outfit?" Kai asks, raising an eyebrow. Lily nods her head, causing Kai to glance over at Astrid with a desired look of help. Looking back over at Lily, she shrugs her shoulders as she stares at the outfit in a bit of awe. Even though it's almost ten degrees outside, Lily has on a light white sweater with a pink skirt on and some brown heels that have the toes out. Shrugging her shoulders, Kai doesn't answer for a moment. "Honestly, I think it's cute," she finally says.
"Thank you so much, Kai-Ver," Lily sends a glare over to Astrid. "At least someone appreciates the simplicity of beauty." Astrid scoffs and rolls her eyes.
"Well, Lily, I think your outfits cute, but don't you think it's kind of cold to wear something like that outside?" Kai tells her quickly. Lily sends her a curious look. "Look, it's cute if you were staying inside or if it were spring, but it's not. It's winter, and if you wear that outside just for a class, you're not going to be able to feel your fingers or toes."
"Yeah, I mean, don't you want to be a little comfortable?" Astrid questions, crossing her arms over her chest. "You don't have to get dressed up for everything, especially not class."
"Well, what do you think I should wear?" Lily replies, sounding honestly curious.
"I would put something cozy on," Astrid says, "maybe a sweatshirt and some leggings if I were you."
"Or maybe some jeans and a chunky sweater. I have one if you would like to borrow it," Kai offers, biting the inside of her cheek.
"What color?" Lily asks.
"Doesn't matter what color it is. She's letting you borrow it," Astrid retorts. "And girl, please, for us, just start wearing clothes that we and normal people would wear to class. It doesn't have to be anything fancy, just whatever you're feeling." Lily nods her head and slightly grins to herself.•|•
2 stories for this idea -First Story:
Build the friendships up, all of them. Have them all come to terms with how much different they are from each other, but they come to love and appreciate one another through there differences. Let Lily learn to love everyone, including the boy with the purple birthmark next to his eye who is dating Kai. Let them form a friendship, too. And then let her learn that she's dying, but not tell anyone except for her parents, until one day she never wakes up.
Second Story:
Have all of the characters grieve in different ways, and share how they go through it. Have them get mad, pretend like nothing is wrong, hate themselves, hate her, hate each other, lose touch with who they are as people, and then learn to love again. Show it. Show the pain and the emotions that real people would go through. Lily was young, after all, and her death meant something to everyone.
