Chapter Thirteen : Regroup

Mercedees and Mia made it back to the base, the whole operation was a bust.

"Hey welcome back guys" Fisher said

They said nothing and Fisher peaked his head out from his workshop.

"Wh...where's Dash and Abby?" Fisher asked

"Abby died...and Dash...went insane...He's a lost cause" Mercedees replied

"Oh..." Fisher mumbled

"No!" Mia cried

"W...what?" Mercedees asked

"We can't give up on Dash like that! He saved me when I lost it...I should return the favor" Mia stated

"But Mia...he could kill you!" Mercedees shouted

"I could've killed him back then, but that didn't stop him!" Mia cried

Mercedees was silent, it took a while before she replied.

"You like him don't you?" Mercedees asked

"...n...no!" Mia stuttered

"Mhm alright, well we will try and save him. We'll be the heroes this time!" Mercedees said

Fan made her way through the hall and into the dark room ahead.

"Man, it's been a long day~" Fan cheered

She walked over to the west side of the room and set her jacket on the table.

"What about you Dash? How was your day?" Fan asked

Dash was locked up, he had chains around his wrists. The chains were mounted on the wall so Dash couldn't move anywhere. He hasn't said or done anything since he'd arrived.

"Come on Pookie...don't be such a party pooper!" Fan cheered

"Go to hell..." Dash rasped

Dash's voice was raspy and scratchy, he hadn't eaten or drank anything Fan gave to him.

"Awww, now that's not something you should say to your forever lover!" Fan said

Dash's chains start to make noises, Fan looked over to see what the commotion was about.

"You have never once, ever could be, or ever will be my lover!! Ever!! You, sick, twisted, fuck!!" Dash screamed, his voice cracking at every word

Fan was at first taken back by Dash's change in tone, but then she started to laugh and laugh.

"Oh ho ho! Sweetie, you're not in a position to have an opinion on the matter. With you being here, you are mine~" Fan swooned

Fan dragged her finger along Dash's face and had it slither down Dash's chest.

"Imagine all the...wonderful things we can do together~" Fan said, biting her bottom lip

Her finger went down to his abdomen.

"And with her gone...I think you could use a bit of... loving~" Fan giggled

Her finger went down to his lower abdomen and stopped right at the waist of his pants.

"But! I do have stuff to do...so we can do this some other time." Fan cheered

Fan kissed Dash on the cheek and skipped away.

"Mia, I want you to go back to the battlefield and see if there are any clues on Dash's whereabouts" Mercedees demanded

"I'm on it!" Mia said

"Fisher, keep working on that device. If Dash asked for it he might have a reason for it." Mercedees said

"Mhm" Fisher replied

"And can someone get me the director! I need to speak to him!"

I felt so cold, so empty, so weak...and so tired...so very tired. What was the point in fighting now? I looked over at my bloodied hand the blood was still clearly visible, but it had dried so long ago. My hand flash and shook, looking transparent for a split second, I smiled.

"wow...Fisher was right." I mumbled, barely hearing myself

Even if they wanted to save me, I don't think I would have a lot of time. It depends on how long these things take.

"Don't give up"

I started to look around, that voice...was it?

"A...Abby?"

"Don't give up, remember our promise"

"O...our p...promise?"

Our Promise! I needed to keep the promise I made to her all those years ago, I'm still alive, am I? She may be gone, but I must make sure her death won't be in vain. I have...no...I need to make sure no one else has to die. I...I can still do this, all I need to do is to find a way to get out of these chains.

"I need to get out before she comes back" I mumbled

I didn't realize how bad my voice sounded, once I get out I'll find the others...and...apologize.
