Mia stared at me, then let out a sigh

"Dash...listen to me...I...I can't run away with you. We can think of a plan to beat her, you can still tell me all your stories about your adventures" Mia replied

"Y...yeah of course!! W...when we hit the road, I'll tell you all that..."

"I've thought about this too." Mia blurted

She...has thought about leaving to? When did it start?

"We would leave this place, get a beautiful home together. Every day when you come home from work, I would always greet you with a kiss. We...we...we could have a baby, watch him grow up, watch him learn, and then...we...we can die happy together"

Was this...what she thought about. Us...living together.

"If that happened...I would be so happy" Mia gushed

"Why...then why don't you leave with me!!" I cried

"Because you're not smiling."

I'm...what?

"If you really wanted it to happen...then you would flash that cheeky grin you always have on"

"but...Mia...I do want this! Trust me I do!!"

"I know that's a lie, it makes me happy that you want this...but, if I left with you...I would be leaving the Dash that I love behind." Mia replied

"So...please...tell me why you're so upset. If you can't then I can try to ease the burden on you"

Abby's dying face, Jason's last breath, Dani's wishes, and Jessica's smile came flooding into my mind, I grimaced.

"Right now let's head back, so we can think of a plan to stop Fan"

"I've thought about this, over and over I did. Every idea, every plan, I even suffered for it..."

I paused, swallowing the lump that had formed in my throat

"That's why...I'm giving up. I can't do this anymore...I...I don't want more people to die because of me!!"

"Dash...I know that it's easy to do, but I..."

What...did she say? My hand shook as it got tighter and tighter. Anger building up

"Did you just say...what I thought you said?"

"D...Dash...y...you're shaking"

I let it loose, it was too much for me to handle.

"Don't give me that crap!! There is nothing, nothing easy about giving up! Nothing!" I screamed

I got closer to her

"You think that I'm just doing nothing, thinking about nothing, cutting myself off from people and everything else, throwing my entire life away to save this fucking worthless world, and you think that's all it took for me to give up!!" I shouted

She looked back me terrified

"Well let me tell you something!! That's a lie and you know it, it was never that easy for me!! I kept believing...that I could do something that made a real difference in life, it was much easier for me that way!! But now I finally realize the cold hard truth, it's the fact that there is nothing I can do!! There's no point okay, everything leads to us dying, or giving up!! She's too strong!!"

I wiped my tears away and backed up from her.

"If there was something I could do...anything at all...I would, I know I would..."
