33- Have Your Life Back

Virgils POV
'seriously Virge, what was that?' I forgot about that 'what happened after that?' he apologised after a few days, don't worry about it. 'I'm gonna keep looking through the books, but did anything like that happen again?' sorta, princey and I bicker all the time, but that's all it is, Bickering. 'okay' I trail my fingers along the spines of the books, scanning over the titles once more. Two identities. I pull it out from between two other books and open to the first page. 'property of Mani Sanders' Mani... 'we should talk to him' he's missing. 'what?!' yeah, we've been looking for ages. 'okay should we read it?' it might have something 'alright.' as I flip through the pages I notice one line. 'to separate two identities' 'Woah, you don't think.... He knew?' he was our friend, he would've told us. 'you've got a point' I scan over the page and find something. 'in order for only one identity to reside in the body, one must die.' 'no way...' what? I didn't read it fast enough! 'don't worry Virge.' I quickly close the book, deciding what to do. "I'm doing the right thing." I say to myself for reassurance. What are you doing? I stand up tucking the book under my arm. V2? Talk to me! 'I'm helping you Virge, just trust me.' what did the book say? 'don't worry about it.' where are we going? 'to find Deceit.' what?! 'trust me!' I walk to Dees room and knock on the door. "who is it?" he sung cheerfully. "it's Virgil, can we talk?" I still don't understand why we have to talk to him. "sure, come in!" Dee opens the door and steps to the side so I can walk in. I sit down on his big golden bed and he follows to sit next to me. "What's up?" I take a deep breath and look him in the eyes. "why did you take away my memories?" how did you know it was him? 'it's a little obvious now.' why didn't you tell me? "I-I don't know what you're talking about..." Deceit stands up and looks away from me. "don't lie about this! I know!" Deceit turns around and his eyes land on the book. "where did you get that?" he might not admit to it. "so it's true." I stand and head to the door but dee grabs my wrist. "I never meant to hurt you, and thats the truth!" I rip my wrist away and leave. V2, stop! Wait! I walk into the light part of the mindscape and head to the imagination. 'I know it's here.' what are you looking for? I frantically search the imagination, I want to be out before Roman comes. 'don't worry' I find what I'm looking for and shove it in my jacket on my way out. Where are we going now? Virge groaned as I walk into my room. When I get into my room I open the small container and grab out a blade. S-stop! What are you doing?! 'the book is right, Virge. Only one of us can live, it should be you!' n-no! Vee please, don't do this! I press the blade to my wrist as I feel tears sting the corners of my eyes. 'I'm just giving you your life back...' I put pressure on the blade, making it cut deeper into my wrist, blood starting to flow from beneath the blade. I slowly move it across my wrist, keeping it deep. Vee no! Stop, now! 'it's okay, Virge. Let me go.' I slice my wrist twice more, as deep as I can manage. I can't let you go Vee! 'You have to.' I lean on the wall and slide down it with the container in my hand. I look into the container and grab out the anxiety pills. Please.... Don't leave me... I slice my wrist one more time before putting the blood covered blade back into the container. Vee, we can work this out just stop! I open the container of anxiety pills and pour some onto my hands, trying not to get too much blood on them. Don't do this.... I take the rest of the pills and close my eyes. 'it's all gonna be okay Virge, you'll have your... Life... Back...'
