Kelly
I wake up and have a nice good stretch. I smile as I'm spending the rest of the weekend with Jakey before I head off back to work tomorrow. So I'm making the most of it. I've missed him so much. Especially when he was away for so long. I'm so glad he's finally back and settled. However I can see that he's not happy and it hurts because I love him dearly and I know that he needs to make an effort to move on from Medina, but he refuses to do so.
Yesterday at Medina's he couldn't stop staring at her. I had to kick him under the table a few times for it was so obvious at times. Poor Qumar would give us strange looks now and then and I would play it off. My stupid love sick brother was so miserable. The fact that Qumar was extremely polite and friendly towards him didn't help matters. I suppose he wanted to hate the man for taking away the woman he loves but Qumar doesn't have a bad bone in his body. He's also a charmer like Jake and I guess he saw his good traits and begrudgingly accepted the man for who he was.
I quickly get out of bed and freshen up. Coming down I head to the kitchen to make Jakey breakfast. We love pancakes and mom would make it every morning for us. So I get on with making them and soon enough the smell of them awakes my brother.
''Morning sleepy head" I smile at him and put a plate full of pancakes between us, deciding to eat in the kitchen
He gives me a quick kiss on the cheek and a hug to.
''Morning sis. Mmmmmm Pancakes! It's been ages. Thank you''.
" Of course it's been ages!!". I roll my eyes... " What you need is a good woman who makes you pancakes every morning". I poured the coffee for the both of us and look across at him.
"Here we go again". He rolls his eyes back at me. Scoffing the pancakes down and closing his eyes to show his appreciation.
"You know I'm right Jakey. Mom's worried and so am I". I have a sip of coffee looking at him over the rim of the cup.
''Kelly, you know I'm happy. Both of you should stop worrying. You make me feel guilty.'' He sighs out his frustration.
''Jakey, Mom asked me the other day wheter you were Gay.''
He splutters his coffee all over the counter top and coughs loudly to recover. I can't help but laugh at his reaction. I quickly grab a hand towel to dry up the mess. Still smiling.
"That wasn't funny Kelly." He dabs at his mouth. "What did you tell her?"
"Well what could I say? I told her that you're just getting over somebody".
Boy if only he would finally get over the lovely Medina.
''Thanks sis. That will keep her of my back for a while". He patted my hand and continues eating.
I stop and stare at him without replying. Sensing that I've gone quiet he looks at me.
"What?"
I don't reply just fold my arms across my chest, whilst still looking at him.
"Don't do that! You look so like mom. It's scary". I see him fidgeting and My lips twitch.
There is only one thing that Jakey hates and that is when mom and I would give him the silent treatment. Also Medina was included in this.
A few minutes pass and he finally gives in. I smile at the victory.
"okay...okay..What do you want me to say? Just don't do that!!".
"I want you to get on with your life. Don't interrupt please, just listen. Medina is married. She has a child. She is happy with Qumar. You saw that yesterday. Now what you need to do is face those facts and bloody move on". I finish of sharply but inwardly I feel so sorry for him especially since I lied.
