Jake.

One week later

The day has finally arrived, Alhumdulilah.  Today I finally marry the only woman I have ever loved. Medina Jahan will finally become mine.

I wake up early and do Wudu. I read my morning prayer and after that I recite the english version of Surah Yaseen. I’m currently studying the arabic version with my Imam. It’s a slow process but In sha Allah I will get there one day.

I decide to come down and make breakfast as I can't sit still. My body is buzzing with emotions. I can't believe she’s next door. Is she Awake? Is she feeling the way I’m feeling?

Damn..I need to pull myself together. I have the rest of the day to go through.

Making my way down I head to the kitchen and put the kettle on. As It's to early ,my parents are still sleeping. Uncle Joe, Aunt sasha and the kids are all asleep in the front room. Their the only family we have in england. Kelly is next door, no doubt she would have ended up spending the night there with her late arrival.

The lads went home late. They wanted to treat me to a proper stag do, but I refused. Hasan understood but James and paul would take no for an answer. I told them if they don't like it they can go and piss off. Come one now..you know how stags do are like. My two friends still need to get it  through their thick heads that strippers and booze are a no, no for me.

Reluctantly they agreed and we end up having a  blast anyway , especially with my Uncle Joe. That man can turn any event into  a wild party even though they were no alcohol present. We got so loud at one point that Abu Jan came over to tell us off but the moment my uncle Joe introduced himself he, the man ended up staying ,joining us.

I get my cuppa and sit at the table going over what I need to do. A while later  I hear a door open and see my uncle Joe nip into the downstairs washroom. He comes out a few minutes later and pours himself A cuppa and join me.

“Alright my son”. He ruffled my hair. An old habit if his.

“Watch the hair ..I just washed it.” I throw him a look, whilst rearranging my hair.

“I know ..old habits”..He takes a sip of tea and looks at me over the mug.

“What?”. I ask him when he continues staring.

“I’m just thinking..how bloody times fly. ..I can't believe you’re getting married me boy”.

“I know right.” I smile at him.

“So tell me more about this Medina chick..Is she really the one son?” He sits back and waits for me to speak.

“The one and only uncle Joe.” I reply immediately.

“Umm..your right.. I can see it on your eyes son..You remind me of myself..I had the same look when I was getting married to Sasha. I knew she was the only one for me.” He smiles and stops to think..probably remembering.

Soon the house slowly awakes and the kitchen becomes full of my parents, Kelly, Aunt Sasha and the kids. I love it. The chatter, the cooking smells, the laughter , the kids running around. Everything.

One day I hope that's me with Medina and our children in this very kitchen.

In sha Allah.
